While I don't find the Astors unlikeable, I am rooting for the White Sox in tis series. The very last thing I was to see is an Astros-Dodgers World Series, so the sooner either or both teams are eliminated, the betterWho is less likable: The Astros or TLR? Discuss.
They were both on the '71 Braves.Tony LaRussa and Dusty Baker first managed against each other in a non-exhibition game in 1996
In 1996:
Alex Cora was drafted by the Dodgers
Kevin Cash was an infielder for Florida State
Dave Roberts was in the Tigers organization and played for the Visalia Oaks
Craig Counsell was a minor leaguer for the Rockies
Gabe Kapler was playing for the Fayetteville Generals in the Giants organization
Brian Snitker was managing the Danville Braves
Wow ... 25 years later, first meet as managers ... 25 years after that, tonightThey were both on the '71 Braves.
God damn it, if the Sox couldn't win it all, I was rooting for White Sox/Brewers. But I forgot about TLR. Now I don't know what to do.Who is less likable: The Astros or TLR? Discuss.
It's Lance vs. Lance today. Does that make it a joust?
Because he took out Russ Ortiz in 2002 and wore out Wood and Prior in 2003.Dusty Baker is arguably the best manager in baseball history to never have won a championship. He is more than 200 games over .500 for his career, and has won 90+ games 11 times and 95+ 7 times, yet has only ever made it to one World Series, which he lost in 7 games in 2002.
This is where I’m at. I also think - dare I say - TLR deserves some credit for keeping the White Sox in first while Jimenez, Robert, and Grandal were out.Nobody likes TLR. But I kind of like these White Sox for no good reason.
Anything to keep Dusty from falling asleepIn-game manager interviews should be stopped via presidential executive order.
For the safety of all, hopefully Tony doesn't drink too much afterUninspiring game from the White Sox so far.
Seems like a feature more than a bug.Is it just me or is the crowd noise incredibly loud on the audio feed? I can barely hear AJP spout wisdom.
Ive only been watching for 15 minutes, and have already heard "glue guy" and "professional hitter." I'll have empty catchphrase lingo Bingo before the 7th inning stretch.AJP very impressed that the Astors know the rule that you have to touch the base on your way back on a fly ball.
Bill James' "Baseball Abacus" pamphlets were revolutionaryWhy is Lynn still in this game? I know TLR is follows the the 1800s analytics revolution but each game is so critical that you'd think they would change things up.
TLR, Freshly Dead!TLR looked to be walking at an angle. Like Marty Feldman in Young Frankenstein
Mound? What mound?TLR looked to be walking at an angle. Like Marty Feldman in Young Frankenstein

The ARod and AJP thing makes me wonder if being insufferable as a player is somehow attractive to the t.v. executives who hire broadcasters.Ive only been watching for 15 minutes, and have already heard "glue guy" and "professional hitter." Could you imagine the two of them together? Throw in Matty V. & Jessica Mendoza for fun.The ARod and AJP thing makes me wonder if being insufferable as a player is somehow attractive to the t.v. executives who hire broadcasters.
