I don’t know he looked pretty damn happy and was laughing at the HBP.Regrets, I have a few, but I imagine Rodon will replay that HBP the rest of his life even with the no hitter in his pocket.
Like Schilling calling off Tek.Regrets, I have a few, but I imagine Rodon will replay that HBP the rest of his life even with the no hitter in his pocket.
Absolutely.I count that one in spirit as a perfect game.
The pitch wasn't in the strike zone nor was any part of Perez, so the only thing to call was a hit by pitch. Also, Perez didn't know he'd broken up a perfect game until after he was hit. He was only aware Rodon had a no-hitter going. No I know it's never called, I just wanted to get it on the record that I think that guy's a dick.
Yeah, Perez didn’t do anything wrong. The pitch wasn't in the strike zone nor was any part of Perez, so the only thing to call was a hit by pitch. Also, Perez didn't know he'd broken up a perfect game until after he was hit. He was only aware Rodon had a no-hitter going.
He was on SVP's show and was genuinely amused that a back foot slider literally hit Perez on his back foot. He seemed pretty happy with his accomplishment overall.I don’t know he looked pretty damn happy and was laughing at the HBP.
As he should be!He was on SVP's show and was genuinely amused that a back foot slider literally hit Perez on his back foot. He seemed pretty happy with his accomplishment overall.
Just for the historical record, almost never:True, but that’s never ever called.
The batter can still be refused first base if he doesn't try to avoid being hit, regardless of whether the ball or the batter is in the strike zoneThe pitch wasn't in the strike zone nor was any part of Perez, so the only thing to call was a hit by pitch. Also, Perez didn't know he'd broken up a perfect game until after he was hit. He was only aware Rodon had a no-hitter going.
His ERA is now 6.31Bumgarner does it. 7 no hit innings.
It does not. It is not officially a no-hitter.So ... I guess it counts even though it's seven innings?
Which is stupid. It does not. It is not officially a no-hitter.
Ah ok - thought that might have been the case but wasn't 100% sure.It does not. It is not officially a no-hitter.
In high school I played in a 14 inning game that I was DH'ed for. 14 innings in left field with no at-bats. At least they got to try.In case anyone isn't paying attention, Gallen and Bumgarner both pitched against the Braves today, seven inning games obv. So the Braves totalled one hit and no runs in 14 innings, that is a seriously frustrating day.
At least they didn't stick you in rightIn high school I played in a 14 inning game that I was DH'ed for. 14 innings in left field with no at-bats. At least they got to try.
He's given up four hits. (Or am I missing the point of this thread?)Something Madduxy brewing in DC. Scherzer scoreless through 8 at 92 pitches.
Until he just gave up a bomb he had a chance for a complete game shut out, aka a Maddux. He's given up four hits. (Or am I missing the point of this thread?)
Is that thread worthy these days?Until he just gave up a bomb he had a chance for a complete game shut out, aka a Maddux.
Sorry, I forgot the most important part of a Maddux, under 100 pitches. He didn’t get it anyway. Is that thread worthy these days?
Does that mean its not perfect?Only base runner on a drop 3rd strike.
Yup. Runner was thrown out stealing so he has pitched to the minimum number of hitters.Does that mean its not perfect?
nm, of course it does
