I said a couple weeks ago. In some ways he is central casting for Hollywood if they needed a voice for a Southern football coach in a movie, but on the other hand it is so ridiculously over the top that no one would ever believe it is realHoly shit! That is some kind of voice that The LSU coach has! Wow!
Bad onside kick thereIowa St with a 3TD comeback in Norman. Going for 2 to go ahead with 24 seconds to go.
I just realized Illinois was trailing 28-3 at one point in this game. And now I'm sad again.Haopy for Lovie, he’s from a town a few miles from my parents and has done a ton of good things there.
True, and they are legit top 5 team, and the rest of the conference is legitimately awful. There isn't another team that deserves to be in the top 25. Nor is there another team that belongs higher than a tier 3 or so bowl game It is a travesty that one of them will end up going to the Orange bowlClemson says hello.
Maybe, by the same token if Clemson wasn't Clemson, they'd rank behind Minnesota this week.If Alabama wasn't Alabama, they wouldn't be in the Top 8 after yesterday. Their schedule this year has been especially embarrassing and they got smacked around at home yesterday. They have a total of 0 signature wins this year. T
Ohio State, LSU, Penn State, Clemson, Minnesota, Penn State, Georgia, and Baylor should be ahead of Bama. Bama's played one great team this year and they lost, at home. The rest of their wins are against teams that have 5, 9, 6, 3, 6, 3, 5, and 8 losses. That's a full slate of cup cakes, with two ok teams in there.True, and they are legit top 5 team, and the rest of the conference is legitimately awful. But Bama lost to the best team in the country right now, by 5 pint, despite playing an awful first half, and with a QB who was far below his normal level due to injury. I'm not sure which 1 loss teams to rate ahead of them?
Georgia? They lost at home to a very weak South Carolina team, and have huge problems on offense
Oregon? Auburn loss is still their signature game on the year. Have had a couple scares against mediocre opposition
Penn St? Have a couple close wins against decent teams. No huge
Oklahoma? Hell no
Couldn't find anything sketchy in his background, just a transfer from Ohio State, where he couldn't crack the depth chart. Pretty good overview from the ringer. Including further confirmation(as if any were needed) of what an asshole Urban Meyer is.He needs to do Disney voice work.
But doesn’t play like a halfway gangster.
What’s his story? I wanna root for him, but feel like there was something weird somewhere I can’t recall.
Obviously a lot can still happen, but there's a non-trivial chance that LSU will play Ohio State in the playoff, which would be one of the all-time great revenge game narratives.Couldn't find anything sketchy in his background, just a transfer from Ohio State, where he couldn't crack the depth chart. There were no plans to use Burrow, who became the subject of relentless ragging. Because Barrett’s first name is really Joe, Ohio State players and coaches delighted in calling Burrow by incorrect names—Barrett told local reporters that some people called him John, others called him Jimmy, and the team’s strength coach called him Jimmy Johns. “I wonder what he puts on his paper in class?” Barrett asked. In a recent Yahoo article, Jones recounted how “it wasn’t uncommon for Burrow to answer something in a meeting and for him to cut him off: ‘Hey John, shut the fuck up.’” This trend extended beyond Burrow’s teammates. According to The Athletic, Meyer repeatedly told Burrow that he was a “Division III quarterback” and that he “throws like a girl.”
What does ‘if Clemson wasn’t Clemson’ mean? You mean if they weren't a really good team? If their program hadn’t been dominant for the past 5 years? I understand the reputation aspect of all of this ranking nonsense, but Clemson can flat out hang with (and on any given day beat) any of the best teams in the country. The fact that the rest of the ACC sucks has nothing to do with Clemson being a really friggin good team. It’s moderately hilarious how this Board dismisses Clemson year after year, or until they reach the National Championship game anyway.True, and they are legit top 5 team, and the rest of the conference is legitimately awful. Well it means exactly what the post I was replying to which said if Alabama wasn't Alabama, where would they be ranked. What does ‘if Clemson wasn’t Clemson’ mean? So Arkansas, Florida State, almost certainly USC and very likely Michigan State-the coaching carousel thread is going to be busy this off season.
Baylor is a funny example here. They're notorious for their weak non-conference schedule (this year's murderer's row: Vanderbilt, Stephen F Austin, UT San Antonio, Rice), they have yet to play Texas and Oklahoma, and have been taken to the wire by such luminaries as Iowa State, Texas Tech, and West Virginia. Their signature win was turning a close game in Stillwater into a curb stomping basically in the last 10 minutes of the game. At least Alabama has played LSU.Ohio State, LSU, Penn State, Clemson, Minnesota, Penn State, Georgia, and Baylor should be ahead of Bama. Their schedule hasn't been easy. It's been a joke.
I welcome the argument and maybe Alabama is 8th, not 9th. You make some great points here.Baylor is a funny example here. It might be a good idea to see how Baylor fares over the next two games before declaring them better than Alabama.
