You're right. Unfortunately, there isn't a good comic doing these things on any air waves. T&R are probably the best, but the last few years, Fred has gone away from making things entertaining or funny and just bitches for minutes on end. Truly funny people aren't going into radio any more and certainly not sports radio in Boston at 6:00 am on a fading second-rate station.
IDK. At some point, the people running EEI have to say fuck it and hire a bunch of young, hungry people (and not just white guys) and let them have a go at it. if it tanks, who cares; the station is going down in flames right now with retreads. Listen to some local popular podcasts, see which ones are funny, pay them a little bit and throw them on the radio. Podcasting is like an untapped, unpaid minor league system. It sure beats listening to Glenn Ordway or Greg Hill or Dale Arnold make the same point that they've been making since the first Gulf War was going on.
