Yup. Get me some AD, pronto. The Raptors tried to choke it away - and Curry missed a wide open 3.
Congrats to the Raptors. I think this finals shows that you always take the chance to make a run when you can because you never know what will happen.
Late period Capitalism at its finest.Worst American sports tradition:giving the trophy to the owner. Give it to the players.
I was hoping I wouldn’t be the only one to notice that.Worst American sports tradition:giving the trophy to the owner. Give it to the players.
And right on cue before the confetti's even finished droppingMasai Ujiri pantsed his 29 contemporaries this season. What a great job with this team.
Toronto should have broken with this one and done it Stanley Cup style.I was hoping I wouldn’t be the only one to notice that.
Draymond played a very good game but he really seem to spaz out down the stretch
Why is that? Masai is really good and the Wizards want to win too.wow that is kinda shitty of the Wizards trying to poach the guy with two years left on his contract
ouch.If the game is close in the last few minutes Golden State is going to win; too many of Toronto’s players appear scared of the moment.
Yep. And the majority owner thanking everyone but the players by name was a nice touch.Late period Capitalism at its finest.
That was said prior to the Thompson injury. Totally different game after thatouch.
Unless you count the ref review at the end of SB 51.This is the most NBA ref thing ever.
ThisAn admirable defense by Golden State, it just wasn’t enough. Congrats to Toronto, really likeable team and the fans suffered a lot. Huge for basketball in Canada.
NM. Wrong postDoes this change the over/under?
Thanks! You've always been gracious.Congrats to all of you long suffering Raptors fans and Warriors haters.
I hadn't thought of this. If so, I wish the warriors would have won.Does Draymond get the T, and miss Sunday if they play?
Not to go all V and N on you, but that was a totally different time obviously. People might not have liked Bush politically, but he was at least respected. The current occupant of the office is not respected at all. I expect both the team and Trump to quietly let the issue die..
I don't think it is far less serious at all (per this SoSH doctor). After Klay was carried off the court he tried jogging on it then returned to shoot his FT's. I don't think he was ever given the Lachman Test prior to getting back on the floor. After Kerr saw him noticeably limping and flexing the knee he instructed for the foul to remove Klay from the game. It appears that this is when the doctors finally had time to perform the test and then immediately announced he was done for the game. That is NOT a good sign at all.Doesn’t mean he’s not f’d up.
When I tore my ACL I walked off the court and drove myself to the hospital. You can even run in a straight line, it’s when you try to make a lateral movement where it will just collapse.
That said, yes it does now seem like it may be something far less serious.
Trump isn't going to invite a team he thinks might turn him down, and I imagine a Canadian team would be under immense pressure to do just that.Does a team from Canada get invited to the White House?
I think it's pretty safe to say that no NBA team will be receiving an invitation from this president to visit The White House. Of course the all-white St. Louis Blues will certainly be chomping down on Big Macs sometime this fall.Trump isn't going to invite a team he thinks might turn him down, and I imagine a Canadian team would be under immense pressure to do just that.
rmflaherty and georgeconstanza were spot on earlier and I was too flippant about Klay's injury.Torn ACL for Klay. Jesus fvcking Christ. Had 30 points on 12 field goal attempts when he went down.
Kinda relieved they didn't have to play Game 7 now. Raptors played great and are a deserving champ, but seriously, fvck right off, hoops gods.
Didn’t we see with Hayward it ain’t that easy?rmflaherty and georgeconstanza were spot on earlier and I was too flippant about Klay's injury.
That said, if Thompson heals on schedule the Warriors should be at full strength by next season's playoffs.
Dude, your boner is showing.Switching into offseason mode, the dubs have to be praying klay just has a sprain. Imagine him being out and kd opting IN? They'd be fucked for next season
ACL is a bit different but you are correct- no guarantees...Didn’t we see with Hayward it ain’t that easy?
Yeah meant more rust and psychology.ACL is a bit different but you are correct- no guarantees...
Boogie's not coming back for the vet minimum, and Looney should fire his agent if he doesn't get huge money. Iggy will be a year older. I have to think Livingston is going to retire. If you have KD and Klay riding the pine on max deals next year, the Warriors are going to be hard-pressed to field a playoff-caliber team next year barring something miraculous happening. Steph will be seeing box-and-ones all year.KD likely won't be picking up his option, but I'm guessing he'll stay with the Warriors on a multi-year max contract. Ditto Klay (much more certain about that). Estimated 12 months and 9 months recovery time respectively, which probably means they're fucked for next season, but who knows. If they can tread water with Steph, Draymond, (maybe) a healthier Boogie, and (maybe) Looney, and Klay and KD recover well, they become the low playoff seed from hell.
It should be a different thread, but is this really true? They made five straight Finals and went 3-2 in the Finals, Jordan's Bulls made six Finals in eight seasons and won all six. Hard to compare eras as always but I'm going Bulls and maybe the Shaq/Kobe team that won three straight too.I think they’re done. It was a hell of a run. Best team ever. Hats off.
They can give him a non-Bird raise to $6.3M. He has already said he's thinking about it. He loves GS, and with KD and Klay out, he'd get a ton of touches and a great opportunity to build up his value.Boogie's not coming back for the vet minimum
Warriors have his Bird rights, so can match any offer. Kerr has called him "foundational," and he's their only core player under 29. I'll be surprised if they let him go.Looney should fire his agent if he doesn't get huge money.
Agreed on these.Iggy will be a year older. I have to think Livingston is going to retire.
It'll be tough in the West. "Miraculous," no.If you have KD and Klay riding the pine on max deals next year, the Warriors are going to be hard-pressed to field a playoff-caliber team next year barring something miraculous happening. Steph will be seeing box-and-ones all year.
Problem with that scenario is that letting KD walk frees up $0.00 with which to build a better bench. They'll only have the taxpayer MLE and vet min contracts either way. All signing KD does is add to the luxury tax bill, and these guys are printing money.I think the more likely scenario is that they let KD walk, keep Klay, use KD's money to build a much better bench, and try to keep their heads above water until Klay is back.
Pretty sure that's still the plan. Fwiw, I don't see them trying to trade Draymond this offseason, either, but stranger things have happened.Draymond's on an expiring deal, but given that he will be their second-best player if KD leaves and Klay is out, I can't see them trying to deal him now. That was a distinct possibility when the plan was to re-sign KD and Klay.
