Cora left ERod in way too long as well. Both are making some head-scratchers.Glad to see Dave Roberts is still on the payroll as well. Just an awful night of decision making.
He just owned it in the presser. He pushed Eddy too hard. I was kicking myself after the homer.Cora left ERod in way too long as well. Both are making some head-scratchers.
As I said in the gamethread, this team has way more brass balls than I ever will. the most complete team grinded it out in Houston and managed that comeback tonight, plain & simple.
I actually love this move. Figured as much as Price was warming in the pen in the 8th and 9th.Watching MLB Network and they just announced that Price is starting Game 5, not Sale.
Really?Watching MLB Network and they just announced that Price is starting Game 5, not Sale.
At what exact time did Cora say Price was pitching. BTW, short rest for Sale* plus he pitched Friday night 13 pitches.Cora said it at the podium. Price tomorrow.
What we know is that he has not anything affecting his voice.Well whether it's arm fatigue or soreness or whatever, there's something physical going on with Sale that nobody's being forthcoming about
And, honestly, probably have not been forthcoming about for 2 months. And I don’t blame them.Well whether it's arm fatigue or soreness or whatever, there's something physical going on with Sale that nobody's being forthcoming about
They may just want to spare Sale having to bat given his recent injury issues.I'm guessing Sale's been sore this whole post-season and he's just been toughing it out from start to start.
you got that right ....if not, he would be starting tomorrow.....I'm guessing Sale's been sore this whole post-season and he's just been toughing it out from start to start.
yeah, saw that.He just owned it in the presser. He pushed Eddy too hard. I was kicking myself after the homer.
Very honest and refreshing.
Whole bunch of folks here quit on this team when it was 4 to 0. Game thread was ridiculous.Anybody that doubts this team is insane plain and simple.
That is awesome.yeah, saw that.
Cora's my guy despite the shit that's happened.
I had to take a break after the Puig HR because it put my head in a bad place. Went and did some chores. Came back a little while later, and boom, we had tied it. This team has a maddening-but-lovable way of coming through as soon as I turn the TV off.Whole bunch of folks here quit on this team when it was 4 to 0. Game thread was ridiculous.
Is it possible for a whole bullpen to be named World Series MVP? Because really that is what should happen, assuming we finish this off. This bullpen deserves to have their own parade no matter what happens. Un-fuckin-believable.
so you missed both homers? The most exciting plays of the game.?I had to take a break after the Puig HR because it put my head in a bad place. Went and did some chores. Go ahead, rub it in.so you missed both homers? The most exciting plays of the game.?
You're really, really shitty at providing insightful baseball discussion. You should probably stop trying. Go mope yourself to sleep tonight. That was a devestating loss. The comparisons to Game 6 in ‘86 are appropriate. It reminded me more of Game 6 of the WCF with Sacramento and LA in ‘02. Bad officiating on top of a brutal loss. I don’t see how they overcome this. It’s not just the loss but the effect it had on the pitching staff that puts them at a disadvantage going forward.
At this point, best case scenario is they go back to Fenway down 3-2, and regroup.
That's how I feel. I am surprised how emotional I am about this series. The last 2 days reminds me of what games 4 and 5 of the '04 ALCS felt like. It seems like they just played for 48 straight hours without stopping. I feel as though I've trimmed my life-expectancy by several months.
The game threads have been pretty much unreadable the last couple years. What used to be one of my favorite things about SOSH is not easily the thing I avoid the most.Whole bunch of folks here quit on this team when it was 4 to 0. Game thread was ridiculous.
Honestly, between the JD Sux, Fire Cora, MLB wants the Dodgers... The game threads are a joke. The game threads have been pretty much unreadable the last couple years. What used to be one of my favorite things about SOSH is not easily the thing I avoid the most.
Chris Sale stood in the back of the dugout as the World Series was slipping away and started screaming.
"He's got two pitches!" the Boston Red Sox ace hollered to his left among a stream of profanities, referring to Los Angeles Dodgers starter Rich Hill.
Then he shouted to his right.
And then straight ahead, pointing with his pitching hand and extending his ring and middle fingers for emphasis.
Sale stepped down, kept on shrieking and raised his right hand, his head bobbing up and down and a fire in his eyes like a Shakespearean king exhorting troops into battle.
"It scared me a little bit," Rafael Devers said, "because I had never seen him yell like that, and the words that he was saying, I had never heard that come from him before. But, you know, we came out sluggish and that moment helped us get motivated for the rest of the game."
Boston had just fallen behind by four runs in the sixth inning Saturday night, nine outs from finding itself tied 2-2 in a World Series that seemed to be a runaway just 27 hours earlier. The Red Sox had managed only one hit in six innings.
"We felt that we had no energy, actually none whatsoever," Red Sox manager Alex Cora said. "It had to do with Rich Hill, the way he was throwing the ball." ...
"I was down the tunnel and I heard someone yelling," Holt later recalled.
Holt turned to Mookie Betts and asked: "Who's yelling up there?"
"He said, 'Sale.' Oh, my God. He was mad at us," Holt said. "I think that kind of lit a fire under everybody. We didn't want to see him mad anymore. So we decided to start swinging the bats a little bit." ...
