Game 4s are always fun when the home team is behind 2-1 and desperate. This is the kind of physical series the Celts and Pistons used to play in the 1980s.

Getting absolutely thrashed in the paint on their defensive end too.
Tried to go small, got some misses but Ilyasova, for one, is a load for a guy like Richardson to fend off on the glass.

Meanwhile going small didn’t really help find clean looks because they end playing iso ball and jacking mid range shots.

That was terrible defense from Wade. Just aimlessly walking under the basket and Simmons made him pay with the heads up drive.

That screen was textbook illegal. You could put a picture of it in the rule book.

Miami's defense has been pretty inconsistent. Kudos to Brown and staff as well as the players for taking advantage.

Philly is good but I’m only going to give so much credit for colossal defensive fuckups like the last two possessions.

Can’t believe JJ didn’t step back for the three.

Philly always leaves me feeling pretty cold that their best players at this time have to defer to the likes of Redick in crunch time because they can’t shoot and struggle against good defense.

A better team than Miami.
Haha. The 76ers may come out of the East but by God are they the hot take team of the moment. A better team than Miami, or basically everyone else in the East outside of the Bucks would likely be up on Philly by now.

In other news, Playoff Rondo, ladies and gentlemen.

Does Embid's "block" on that play get added to his stats?

Seems like Philly got a lot of calls.
I think they just decided to let them play, for the most part. Miami was totally gassed at the end and the fouls that were called on them seemed legit. It was the non calls where they appeared to be getting hosed. The clear foul on Wade with a minute left, the Embid pick play mentioned here, among others.

I know the sixers are very talented and young and fun, etc. But they bring out the worst in people. They're very trolly and now they're in a dog fight. I think they'd be better suited to be sneaky dirty than just outright dirty
They aren't being the dirty team are you kidding me????
The embiid hurting Winslow was a dive to the floor loose ball where both checked on each other after
Wade tried to rip Anderson's arm out of it's socket, James Johnson tried to grab Simmons by the throat but spo held his arm back. Winslow stepped on and tried to break Embiid's mask and their game plan has been be physical and bully the kids
And you problem is that the sixers are dirty?

You mean like the heat? Who are a top 3 defense?

Miami scraps and they’re doing what they can against a more talented and better shooting team but they’re suffering from what afflicted Boston in recent years—a roster full of 6th man types that is well coached but can only do so much.

Fond memories of battling the 76s in the 60s and 80s!

I am not convinced that Phil can handle a disciplined team that can play 48 minutes. If the celts put away milw, that means the celts are playing with discipline (the celts have no chance if they play any other way). IOW, we can take 'em (esspecially if Smart can play his ball to the walls D)

Hey...Evan Turner and Jae Crowder would like a word with you about saying they are well coached sixth men who can only do so much.

Uh...wait...

Embiid rushes to the rim out of control and gets a ton of foul calls that way.

I love their approach. The Heat are trying to beat the 76ers up and the young guns won't back down.
Me too. We are watching young talented players learn how to win tough playoff games by battling hard and not backing down. Having Redick around to knock down jumpers opens things up for others as well.

So glad they didn't simply wait out Tatum and have next years Kings pick. We dodged a bullet there. Ainge >>> Thanks Dad II

The Heat are the dirty team. The sixers are just being dirty back rather than cowering.

I’m a Sixers fan so I admit I may be biased but that’s my take. The Sixers haven’t been playing chippy as they came together over the course of the end of the season. They’re just reacting to the Heat’s physical challenges, and the Heat are a dirty team. They know they can’t win through talent so they’re resorting to brute force. But now they’re out of options.

Portland has stormed back, playing for their season. Down by 4 now, when this game looked over 7 game minutes ago.

Davis dropping 50 and closing out Portland is a big boy result.

I know this possession is important; but this getting reviewed really slows down the game and hurts the watch-ability of what should be the most exciting part of the game.

It's a drag. Same as the NCAA tourney. And Portland on its last legs here.
