It's the right call, but only because they're winning in the 4th quarter, making the lower-variance call the better choice. In another situation, I'd make them rekick. Why wouldn't Garrett make them re-kick it? He got a boomer of a punt and no return.
Winning by a mere FG, early in the 4th. The difference could be 20 yards of field position in the middle of the field. I have to imagine the win-probability calcs would rather take the variance, such as it is.It's the right call, but only because they're winning in the 4th quarter, making the lower-variance call the better choice. In another situation, I'd make them rekick.
What else are you gonna do with an FSU education and a box of crayons.Jamies wrote a letter to his teammates? What, do they fly seperately or not see each other at practice?
let's be honest, if he knows how to write he didn't learn it at FSU.What else are you gonna do with an FSU education and a box of crayons.
This one is still up for grabs. Barely. So, Cowboys can clinch #1 seed with a win in the final 2 games now.
LolWhat else are you gonna do with an FSU education and a box of crayons.
I prefer the misspelling of "Jammies" from earlier.Famous Amos >> Famous Jameis
I wouldn't say they dominated. If the Bucs took better care of the ball, they would've won.Dallas completely dominated that game and still took another three years off my life to win it.
Cowboys definitely dominated the 4th quarter. Defense really stiffened after TB scored the TD.I wouldn't say they dominated. If the Bucs took better care of the ball, they would've won.
take away that horseshoe up the wazoo Bucs TD and it's dominated.I wouldn't say they dominated. If the Bucs took better care of the ball, they would've won.
The Cowboys were +3 in turnovers but only won by 6 points. Yeah, they could have been even more lucky and won big, but they certainly didn't dominate the game.take away that horseshoe up the wazoo Bucs TD and it's dominated.
"You have to understand what's legal and what's not legal. You can jump into the stands in Green Bay, but you can't jump into a Salvation Army bucket in Dallas. You've got to be careful about snow angels. All of these different things that we do. So we have to be more mindful of that. I've got to coach that better."
I dont think a head shot has to be helmet to helmet when its on a QB's head. I dont think they said it was. It was shoulder to head. You certainly dont have to "blow him up." In the pocket, just touching his helmet is enough.I really don't think that was a headshot. The tackle process began before he even started sliding, the contact was NOT helmet-to-helmet (no matter what the commentators said), it didn't blow him up or anything. And Newton definitely popped up and threw the ball at the guy who tried to tackle him. Textbook definition of taunting; the call of roughing the passer would have been anything but textbook.
“Even if a defender is coming off a block and wrapping his arms, he must avoid making forcible contact with his helmet, shoulder, forearm, or chest.”
Roger Goodell's NFL is a joke, and Bland Deanblando is the Court Jester.A defender must pull up when a runner begins a feet-first slide. This does not mean that all contact by a defender is illegal. If a defender has already committed himself, and the contact is unavoidable, it is not a foul unless the defender commits some other act, such as helmet-to-helmet contact or by driving his forearm or shoulder into the head or neck area of the runner.
He's a sliding QB and the defender made no attempt to avoid hitting him. That's textbook unnecessary roughness.I really don't think that was a headshot. I wouldn't have been upset by offsetting PFs, but that was a long way away from an egregious hit to the head on a sliding QB. The game where Newton took all those shots and then complained afterwards, he had 2-3 absolutely legitimate gripes where he got smacked late without consequence. This one wasn't in the same area code as those.I dont think a head shot has to be helmet to helmet when its on a QB's head. I dont think they said it was. It was shoulder to head. You certainly dont have to "blow him up." In the pocket, just touching his helmet is enough.
There should have been PFs both ways.
What attempt would have pleased you? The tackler was already lunging into his tackle when Newton made the decision to start sliding. The tackler went low, and it was a glancing blow to the helmet - his head basically didn't move even in slow-mo. If you want to call that a PF, you need to tell me what the tackler should have done differently up until the moment Newton decided to slide, and/or once he was airborne. He's a sliding QB and the defender made no attempt to avoid hitting him. That's textbook unnecessary roughness.
