1. Mahomes (26) - 1 SB, 1 MVP, 1 all-pro, 4x pro bowl
2. Allen (25) - 1 pro bowl but many more to come most likely
3. Herbert (23) - 1 pro bowl
4. Burrow (25)
5. Jackson (25) - 1 MVP, 1 all-pro, 2x pro bowl
6. Jones (23)

I know Jones isn't at the level of these other guys (and man has Jackson fallen down this list or what?) but still, there's a bunch of great young QB talent in the AFC.

No offense, but Mac shouldn't be on this list. At least not yet. He's young, sure, but not a gun. Frankly, if Mac is on this list, why not Zach Wilson and Trevor Lawrence?

Nothing he's done has ever come within a mile of what those other 5 QBs have done.

Based on what people have been telling me in this forum the last couple of years, you have Burrow way too high on that list.

I agree he isn't there. But he's promising. And he played WAY better than Wilson and Lawrence. But sure, remove him. Still a lot of exciting, talented young QBs in the AFC.

Wilson and Lawrence played on lousy teams in lousy organizations.

Clearly.

Yet Mac played way better. Not even close, really. Doesn't mean he will have a better career but it wasn't close for their 2021 rookie campaigns.
Yeah. It wasn't just that Mac made the playoffs. He was far and away the best rookie QB this year. And, if anything, Davis Mills was 2nd.

As for fallen down this list, 26 yr old Baker Mayfield says hello.

Young guns with young weapons too. Gabriel Davis is 22. JaMarr Chase is 21. Even Tyreek Hill is still just 27.
Right. You need a posse. Let's keep rolling with violent metaphors. Kidding kidding. But seriously you can't talk about these guys without, like you said, their weapons. I think the hard part with the team is you spent big money on two tight ends and Agholor to try and get average or above average production. That makes sense when you have no young talent in the pipeline and have to pay for free agents. The team also have a serious need to invest a lot of draft resources on defense this year. That being said I think they could do something like CB/FS early, WR sometime day 2, and ILB and another DB day 2 or early day 3. I am assuming they try and trade back this cycle. You could get a Doubs or an Alec Pierce and take a shot at a WR like them who could be game changing while still upgrading on defense. You have to invest though. It's hard enough to stop teams like the Bills and the Chiefs. Hell the Bills actually have a great defense and... well you saw. So being able to win in a track meet is just something you have to be able to do if you want to win IMO. Right now they probably can't do that. Even in year two assuming Mac improves, Jonnu is remotely better, Agholor gets used more (meaning Mac throws more deep shots) it still isn't a good enough offense to win in a shootout. So draft guys. Throw some darts.

This this this.

They can’t really get that much better at running the ball, and any premium investment in resources to do so wouldn’t provide the same marginal benefit as trying to find one or two game breaking receivers. You probably strike out if you pick one mid to late rounds, but you gotta try because you aren’t getting through the conference without reliable shot play capabilities.
