D O'B and four other white guys. They all sounded good last year, but it might be nice to have a broader perspective.
Propose a former player who is a person of color who might be willing. I am sort of drawing a blank, b/c although former black players like Pedro, Ortiz and Vaughan would be fun, they are not going to be interested. Unfortunately, listening to Ellis Burks was like watching paint dry.

I'm not in the business so that's not my job. But off the top of my head, Flash Gordon sounded OK when I heard him, not sure what his interest is. Also there's an entire universe of Latin broadcasters covering MLB in American markets all year, for some time now. Must be some good candidates who would be fine with the English-language side of the house. Latino players are around 30% of the game, so it feels like having a Latino voice in the mix should be a priority.

Last year my teenage son caught a rocket foul ball down the left field line, and Youk exclaimed "sign 'em!". Then he gushed about the catch during the replay. So he's my guy and should be the color analyst for life.

No more Mazz, mercifully, per the Globe:

“We both went into it knowing it was sort of a trial thing,’’ said Massarotti. “I appreciate them giving the opportunity to me. I also appreciate the Red Sox for doing that. So it was worth a shot. They want to go in another direction, that’s their call. I would have liked to have done it going forward, but that’s OK. No harm, no foul.”

I was kind of hoping Millar.
Youk is really intelligent. Comes with a mythical analytics rep

Eck will be missed. Punt DOB

A pitcher of any background would be nice

Was not a fan of him, he was dry and boring which is everything you don't want in a color guy imo.

Red sox will not only be a tough watch most likely but now tough to listen to. I agree benhogan, Millar was probably my favorite out of the bunch but I'm sure his mlb gig is better then a nesn one. I still think Lou would of been the perfect fit on the tv broadcast.
