Pulisic is so good turning the ball upfield quickly. He's been very involved since coming on for Reus in the 43rd minute (injury) and would have had a tap in goal if Dembele had laid it off to him open at the 10 instead of firing a shot high and wide.

Aaaaaand he starts a run with a perfect turn and finishes on the other end with perfect one time finish to the far corner. Stud.

Pulisic picked up a stoppage time assist, too.

Geoff Cameron started at DM for Stoke City today. It's a big relief to see him fit again three weeks in advance of our next WCQs.

Honduras and Panama better watch the fuck out. Especially if Arena is playing FJ at midfield.

Mix Diskerud has re-joined the ranks of Yanks Abroad. NYCFC has loaned him to IFK Göteborg through August 27. I'm not sure exactly why the loan ends in late August, as both the US and Sweden are spring-fall countries. Maybe he wants to be available for the summer transfer window.

Matt Miazga registered an assist in Vitesse's 5-0 win over Sparta Rotterdam.

Rubio Rubin, who got injured right before the Danish Superliga re-emerged after the winter break, missed his first two games for Silkeborg, but has played in the last two as a sub and scored the consolation goal in today's 5-1 loss to Nordsjælland. Utrecht ultimately gave up on him because of injuries and because he really struggled with finishing when given opportunities, so it's good to see him score immediately.

Aron Jóhannsson was an unused sub again for Werder. He's played less than 90 Bundesliga minutes since September despite being healthy for most of that time. Things really haven't gone well for him since leaving AZ.

Tuchel got a little cute today and it cost BVB the match. Tried to steal the point(s) without having to use Dembele and Pulisic and it looked like the right move after Aubameyang popped in the equalizer and they were pushing for a 2nd. Instead they conceded and the wonder twins were only given about 20 to make an impact and it wasn't enough.

Also, Brooks Was Here.

Maybe he got cute today, but I don't think anyone could complain about the number of minutes Pulisic has gotten this year, especially on that roster of attacking players. He has nearly stole a starting winger job from Marco Reus, has gotten Schurrle relegated to the bench, he played 90 against benfica on wednesday and 45 (and scored) against Leverkusen last Saturday. He has 17 starts for BVB on the season, 15 more sub appearances, and hasn't sat out a game since december 10 at Cologne. So he needed a rest, and came on for 20. Hard to really fault Tuchel there.

Dortmund also have a cup match on Tuesday, so this is as busy as they'll be all season. He really has no choice but to rotate the lineups a bit.

Hyndman heavily involved in Rangers' late equalizer against Celtic:

It's only the second time in 28 league games that Celtic have dropped points - both draws. They hold a 25 point lead over second place Aberdeen in mid March. Yikes.

He should have had one earlier in the game but for a at-least-somewhat-dubious offsides call on a preceding pass. He had an absolutely killer shot through traffic to score on a pass back to him, but that passer was flagged offside. He was a monster upfront all game. I'd rather have him at CF than a healthy Dempsey right now, although with a 4-4-2 we might not have to choose.

I saw that - it wasn't dubious, it was totally offside. Was still a nice finish though.

The ballgirl snarling at the goalscorer at 0:10-12 of that video is priceless. I think she called him a "f--ing c--t" but we should call in one of our tame Scotsmen to be sure.

Hyndman heavily involved in Rangers' late equalizer against Celtic:

Been a great loan move for Hyndman. Since heading north, he's had 7 league starts and 2 cup starts, going the full 90 in 6 of those matches (including against the unstoppable Celtic).

It's hard to predict what this might mean for his future at Bournemouth. They've dipped in quality this season, and 2017 has been downright disastrous for them so far (1-3-6), all this despite investing in a Jack Wilshere loan to push the club a notch higher. Wilshere more or less blocked Hyndman from getting any time on the field during the first half of the campaign. Wilshere moving back to Arsenal or on to any place else probably opens up a real chance for Hyndman to impress this summer. Let's just hope there's no more badly-timed injuries.

Goal, Pulisic! BVB finally take the lead 1-0, off a counterattack.

His fifth of the season across all comps.

And Pulisic finishes a great pass from Dembele. I'm watching on mute while listening to podcasts. Has this game been as chippy as it appears?

Didn't look that way to me on the first half. Nothing vicious that I saw. Dembele got a bit of a nasty hit towards the end of 1H but it looked accidental. There was a run by Lotte into the box at ~25' that saw defenders pulling at him a little bit, but it's not like Fellaini and Zlatan are throwing elbows around.

Thanks I must have just caught that at the perfect time and I saw the other team yelling and almost coming to blows going into the half.

Pulisic subbed off in the 82nd minute and then the feed cuts out. It's like they know. Well, now we're back and Dortmund's up 3-0 after some poor goalkeeping from Lotte.

Anyway, sometimes I need to take a step back and admire what Pulisic has already accomplished. He's 18 all season and he's already getting tons of playing time while competing with Götze, Reus, Kagawa, Schürrle, and Dembélé. When he's on the field, he's not just holding his own but is often one of BVB's better players. Not that it means all that much, but Transfermarkt has him rated as the most valuable player born in 1998 in the world; Monaco's Kylian Mbappé is the only other player even close.

He honestly doesn't need to improve all that much more before the truly big boys come calling - Bayern, Barcelona, Real Madrid.

What a time to be alive.

You'd think Liverpool would be one of those big boys, given their reputed (and declined) offer, but maybe Dortmund really want to build a US following. I mean, half the value of Fox Sports' bid for the Bundesliga rights is probably the ability to show Pulisic on a weekly basis, and compete with the EPL on NBC. It wouldn't be the worst business decision for BVB to keep him, absent a near-record-breaking offer. A small club couldn't make enough money off of Pulisic to justify turning down a fair (or even a good) offer, but BVB is good enough and big enough to use him to attract a following and see him as a profit center.

I mean, look at me. I basically religious watch his games, and the entire time it's like I've got the Ron Paul "it's haaaaappening!" GIF playing in the background. If he weren't on the team, I'd pretty much just root for them against Bayern, and would certainly root for Hamburg, Hertha and the other teams with americans on them over Dortmund. Instead, Dortmund's games are appointment viewing, I'm considering getting some merch... and I'm, like, at best the 30th-biggest footie fan on this site. Quintanariffic is probably still cleaning up his splooge from the goal at 57' today.

I don't know, the way Dortmund plays makes them must-see TV for me even when Pulisic isn't playing. They play a very attractive brand of soccer. All things being equal, I would probably pick to watch them play over a great number of EPL teams. I thought for long stretches last year they were the most entertaining team in the world.

For right now, I would prefer he stays at Dortmund. He's comfortable there, and Tuchel has shown an ability to integrate young players into his squad and develop them. He has to fight for his place in the squad too as it's not like they're lacking for attacking wingers. He has the chance to practice against some of the best in the world. Twice a year, he laces them up against Bayern, a team far superior to anyone he will play in CONCACAF. They will play in UCL every year, where he gets to match up against the biggest and best clubs in the world. If he moves, I would rather he go to Spain where it's not quite as physical (I am always terrified he'll get crunched by some Neanderthal center back after he megs the guy covering him) and the lack of quality at the bottom of the table compared to the EPL allows more time off.

And yet they keeping frickin' putting BVB on FS2, which nobody with Comcast gets. God damn it, Fox.

Dortmund were smart to turn down Liverpool. I doubt the offer was truly stupid money and Dortmund figures might get a lot more a few years down the road. For his part, Pulisic is wise to stay at Dortmund where he's in a great developmental situation. If he wants to chase huge money someday, he may well have opportunities to do it at a club that is actually better than Dortmund on the field, whereas an upper-mid tier EPL club like Liverpool would be a lateral move at best and maybe a slight step down. That Dortmund will have more US eyeballs on their club as a result of all this is just gravy.

Agree with all of this. Love the fact that CP has prioritized his own comfort and development in the short-term. Just further illustration that he's got a good head on his shoulders. If he is half the player he appears to be, that money will still be there (and then some) 2-3 years down the road. I wouldn't put it past a Liverpool in particular to make a strong run at him again with stupid money. FSG could make a "360" type offer using the LeBron model for monetizing his endorsement value off the field. With the profile this kid is already starting to develop, an EPL club could set themselves apart as the club of choice for the next generation of American fans.

Hyndman scored his fourth goal in eight SPL games for Rangers in a 4-0 win over Hamilton.

Brooks scored off a corner in a 4-2 loss to Köln.

U-20 midfielder Luca de la Torre showed up in the 18 in the Championship for the first time, but didn't get off Fulham's bench.

Johannsson got off the bench for the first time in over a month.

Brooks scored off a corner misses the point for his match yesterday.

Hertha´s manager Michael Preetz came out after the game and said Brooks has pain in his knee, but today (SUN) it was said it was just an irritation and he can travel to the national team.

That's good news...I think. At least in response to potentially bad news that I didn't know existed. I didn't see or read about the game, just looked at the scoreline.

The US really can't afford more injuries to important players.

In the link it´s in the last paragraph of the text. I posted it in german and it says basically the same i mentioned above.

The Schalke trio are getting some training time with the first team:

During the international break, it's common for youth players to spend a little extra time with the first team and maybe even play in a friendly or two, so this certainly doesn't mean anything exciting is imminent. I'd love to see one of these guys break into the first team by the end of 2017, though.

Yedlin is back in Newcastle's lineup today. Wood missed Hamburg's game this weekend with a knee injury.
