Nova has given up 3 HRs in the first 4 innings today to BAL, which seems like it locks in Sabathia as the 5th starter.

I think Refsnyder may have cost himself a roster spot these last two days, Kozma (not on the 40 man roster) or Torreyes (on the 40 man roster) would bump him and allow him to get some more reps at 3B in AAA. NY only has 39 guys on the 40 man currently, and Bird can go on the 60 day DL whenever, so no problem adding Kozma if that's what they decide.

As predicted, Refsnyder to AAA. He'll be back before too long.

Poor Refsnyder. A rightfielder in college, switched to second base in the minors, not quite polished yet so let's send him over to the hot corner to catch a couple bad hops off his face late in spring training, and once the Yankees have finished torturing the kid, they farm him out to frigging Scranton. They call this player development.

If he was a better hitter (he's solid but not superb), he could play wherever the hell he wanted. The second base job was his for the taking, he just wasn't quite impressive enough to do so, and now it's Castro's for the foreseeable future.

Although they probably should have traded him after getting both Castro and Ackley, maybe they couldn't get too much in return.
