We've argued about this periodically for the last few seasons, but now that Wingack and I are mods, we're making the below rules official (they've been Dope-approved) and hopefully this will eliminate the bulk of the arguing over the course of the season (about game thread starting etiquette anyway). Also, we reserve the right to make special rules for rembrat.  :)

================================================================

If a Boston fan starts the thread and NY loses, they can start the next thread. If a NY fan starts the thread and NY wins, they can start the next thread. Otherwise, there needs to be a new thread starter. However, if it is one hour or less before the game starts and there is no thread started yet, anyone can start a thread.

I hope we get at least a few more Yankee fans contributing here this year, especially since Coup has (unfortunately correctly) been wished into the cornfield in the offseason. On paper this will be NY's fifth straight season as a top 4-5 team in MLB, but still most Yankee discussion forums are so critical of Cashman even though he has been incredible since the selloff in mid-2016, but NY has run into some historically great teams. The Dodgers won their division seven times in a row and finally won a WS after #8, the top handful of teams in MLB in recent years have been so loaded (Verlander/Cole dominated together for two years in HOU, zero titles thanks to BOS and WAS).

Of those recent NY teams, I think this is easily the most talented 40 man roster top to bottom, and I think there's a good chance it's the most talented 40 man roster they've ever had (when healthy). In addition to a quite loaded MLB roster, NY has never had all of these high-end potential arms at the back end of the 40 man. Since I am a big picture guy, I have very little tolerance for the 'woe is me' contingent of Yankee fans that seem to dominate all online discourse around them, but if you want to come on board for what looks like it could be an especially exciting season and are able to generally keep things in perspective, welcome.

No no no, he is alive as far as I know, but he was banned from SOSH maybe six months ago.

Well, that’s as dead as you can get on this site. Glad to hear he’s still alive. But he’s the king of negativity. When Voit went down and there was silence, I just figured he was dead.

I hope to be much more active than last year. I gotta be honest, I struggled with interest in the 60 game season during an election year. This is exciting for me, I genuinely want to see Cole Kluber Taillon at full force. Taiklubole? ColKlubon?

Entire season is set to be free. Fully expecting 170+ out of myself this year.

Taiklubole? ColKlubon?
Klube Con:

And all who heard should see the pitching mound right there,
Opposing batters all shall cry, Beware! Beware!
Their flashing eyes, their floating hair!
Weave a baseball round them thrice,
And swing your bat with holy dread,
For Blake on honey-dew hath fed them well,
And drunk the milk of health and championships.

Me, too, in terms of last season. Looking forward to a real Opening Day, as always. And anything short of winning the World Series will again be a disappointment. But the journey to getting there is the real fun. If the rotation holds up, that’s a good first step.
