I am surprised there isn't a general poker thread, search didn't bring anything up.

Did anyone catch the Final Table last night? McKeehan had an absolutely amazing run of cards, pulling top pairs out of his ass nearly every hand. They brought up one stat last night that he lost exactly one hand on showdown all night and that was the hand when Beckley caught a set of 6's on the turn.

McKeehan is a literal neckbeard who will probably piss his 7 million away, but one can not deny that he plays a mean game. I know it's hard to lose which such a massive chip lead and such a good run, yet he played it perfectly never putting himself at risk, and leaning on his opponents just enough to nickel and dime the table.

I thought it was an awesome performance from start to end for McKeehan. His approach min/small raises to open just about every pot was very effective. Yes he got hit with the deck for a lot of the final table and I found it hilarious last night when he was talking about what the commentators must be saying regarding his starting hands. What I was most impressed with though was his reads all 3 nights. He laid a lot of hands down after the turn/river that many others would have had difficulty getting away from.

There was one point against Blumenfield where McKeehan remarked that "your not the kind of guy to hit a flush on the river", and calls correctly with the better middle pair with the board having flush possibilities. 5 hands later, the same situation happens, albeit with a slightly different betting pattern, and Blumenfield hits his flush. Even with reasonable odds, this time McKeehan folds his top pair. It was a great sequence.

I like how ESPN broke up the final table coverage over 3 days. They need to come up with a shot clock solution for these final tables. I have seen a clock used on telecasts in Europe where each players gets 3 time extension chips to use when needed. Some of those preflop tanking decisions by Stern where he ended up folding were ridiculous.

McKeehan is a very worthy champion. He acted quickly and his reads were spot on all 3 days.
