Harold Reynolds - "Arod, you reached the major leagues at the age of 18. What is the key for a young guy to get there so early?"

Arod - "Be a once in a lifetime talent?"

Harold Reynolds really is an idiot, isn't he?

Zobrist's 8 doubles this postseason ties him for the all-time lead in a single postseason; Pujols and Freese both had 8 in 2011.

Honestly, Collins leaving Matz out there that long reminds me of regular season Tito a few seasons ago, stealing outs with Beckett. You just can't do that in a World Series game. I don't get it either, since you figure you can run out Reed for the 6th, Clippard for the 7th, and Familia for the 8th and 9th, as typically done. Warm up Colon on the side, just in case. Baffling decision once again by Collins. Feels they win in spite of him, really.

Yes .. Or Arod could have told the truth and say "know a really good chemist in high school"

Based on what I've heard on the radio, I had though Collins has been good this postseason, but yeah, leaving Matz in there was a big mistake

It's how he manages this team, for better or worse.  He looks for length out of his starters.  It worked for him last night, not as well today.
And Reed/Clippard is far from a sure thing.

Is the former more out of style, or necessity, given his bullpen? Honest question, and I'm not sure, either way, just curious. Completely agreed on your second point though, they're far from the Kansas City bullpen, but were it me in Collins' shoes to begin the top of the 6th, I have to think they're your safest choices, though as you say, absolutely not a sure thing, especially starting with a clean inning. Just look at their empty/runners on lines: Reed's line with bases empty this year was .214/.273/.273, runners on it was .312/.370/.450, though Clippard's got a weird reverse going on there, despite an LOB% only 0.1% higher than his career average this season, at 81.0%.
