Good starting game of the Series. Mets bullpen was due to crack a tight lead, Gordon really mashed an OK pitch there in the 9th. Mets offense scratched out an OK number of runs as usual, they just gave up a bit more this time, partially due to defense.

I'd put more of this on the offense - 0 runs in 5 extra innings, including off of the Royals' #4 starter... you have to be able to get a run across at some point there

I don't even mean they missed hittable pitches - the construction of this Mets team is pretty clear at this point, getting 5 shutout innings from the bullpen is going to be rough at best... if they want to win extra-inning games, they need to score runs, they can't outlast someone in an 18 inning pitching duel
