I don't know who the Mets backup catcher is. Is he any good?

Kevin Plawecki... he's a fairly big offensive step down (though D'arnaud is hitting like 200, so maybe not), but to be honest I don't remember his arm being better (his rep coming up was as an offense-first catcher, and he's improved a bit but I don't think was above-average defensively)

That was friggin insane!!!  What could Joe Buck say?  Harvey and Volquez are in the zone.

I'm legitimately excited about how good the Mets could be next year - take this rotation, subtract Colon/Niese and add Matz/Wheeler, and if this Harvey shows up (instead of the first-year back from TJ Harvey that struggled at times this year)... Wheeler could easily be the #5 starter even if he comes back solidly from injury, which is crazy

Think you'll resign Cespedes?

Those in game interviews are a waste of everyone's time.  Leave those guys alone. "There's a game going on!"

Highly doubtful. I think it would've been closer if he had kept up his tear through the postseason (partly in that he would've forced their hand in opening the checkbook, particularly if he played a big role in a WS win), but his fall-of I think gives the Mets a good enough excuse to not sign (which is probably for the best, to be honest, he's not going to be worth what he's going to get).

They think Conforto is the real deal, and the platooning in the postseason is more because they had Cuddyer (and then because he hadn't faced left-handers in months); he's going to be the starting LF next year. Lagares' fall this year was mostly injury related (he really needs elbow surgery, but put it off), if he can get back to GG-level defense he's basically what the low-tier hope was for JBJ (average-ish offense with GG-level defense to create a valuable CF).

Harvey ain't coming out of this game unless his arm falls off. He's locked and loaded.
