Damage done is on MLB Network now from 7-9 EST. I'm also watching Colts-Texans game. It's also on again Monday at different times. Just curious to see if some of you are watching. As far as playoff game is I fear the Colts more then the Texans right now. And the Ravens.

I love this team, love recapping the series, so...enjoying it. That said...

I am fully on board with sportscasters and narrators of every gender and stripe. I am a diversity devotee raised in Mass to the soundtrack of Free to be You and Me. But good LORD, this narrator is TERRIBLE. She has no sense of drama or pageantry, no feel for the moment. Just...really, really subpar, IMO. And MLBN lets it slide that - anywhere in the video, but especially within the first five minutes - she says "fReaturing" and didn't have her re-record that part of the V.O.? Just go again. There's only one R in featuring, and it's not toward the beginning.

Yeah, the pacing is really odd. Narrator is poor—and the drama isn’t allowed to build up. Too many interviews interspersed with highlights.

Narrator is Boston native and BU grad Uzo Aduba. Some of her inflections are a bit weird but I don't find her any better or worse than Damon or Affleck or Leary.

"In a year that has been so improbable, the impossible has happened." Is still one of the greatest calls of all time. Thank you Vin Scully.

Watching Slappy and Kobe revel in the Game 3 victory made the rest of it even sweeter if that’s possible. “We’ve drawn blood now!”

Kirk Gibson throws out first ball in game 4 with Eck. I will always think of Gibson as a Tiger much more then a Dodger. Nobody seems to remember his big moments for the Tigers. (Game 5 1984 WS HR off Gossage) People seem to forget his huge HR's against the Mets in both games 4 and 5 of the 1988 NLCS. Huge clutch home runs. Obviously not the drama of Game 1 WS but very big. I'm not saying it's an overrated HR just overhyped. You say Kirk Gibson to the average or casual fan they will say......Oh yeah big home run for the Dodgers and not remember his Tiger years where he played longer. He shouldn't have won the MVP that year. Hershiser or Darryl Strawberry or Andy Van slyke were more deserving. Just saying!

Pearce coming down the tunnel to a hero's welcome was outstanding footage...……...room got a bit dusty.

Anyone who is not a sports fan has no clue what they are missing out on during moments like this.

Seeing David Price nearly beat Vazquez as the first player to get to Sale after the final strike will never get old to me.

Loved the inclusion of a clip of Dave Roberts' signature steal and score from game 4 of the 2004 ALCS. It got a little dusty in the room. 4 WS championships in my lifetime and it still gets dusty every time I see that replay or a replay of Papi's grand slam off Benoit in the 2013 ALCS.

I know there's the other thread about NESN not doing a full-season DVD. But this season was so spectacularly good, from start to finish, with so many compelling story lines and players, that the World Series video made me wish even more for a retrospective of the regular season, too. Particularly because of what happened during the previous couple of years, when the story lines and players weren't so compelling, last summer was really, really fun. It's the closest Red Sox baseball has been to must-see TV since 2004 or 2007, at least for me. Even if NESN can't combine the regular season with the World Series video because of the cost of the rights, I wish they could just put out a video of the regular season (the one hour best-of that ran before the playoffs simply wasn't enough -- too many highlights from last year!).

Watched it again, I love this team so much, and what a dominant job they did against stellar post-season competition. And, again, and this time with extra emphasis, the narrator is truly awful. Previous films have had terrific VO from the likes of the Good Will Hunting twins, Liev Schrieber and others. I have no idea why they opted for this year's narrator. She is worse than any I've ever heard - by MILES.

Not a tragedy or anything, I just find it kind of surprising nobody at MLBN decided to redo it with someone, possibly ANYONE, else. My mom, even.

EDIT: Typos

I stumbled across the usually execrable RedSox Report recently. They had a 4 episode set of 30 minute episodes. One each for the regular season and 3 playoff rounds. The narrator sounds like the PA announcer. Anyway, it nearly fits the bill.
It might be on demand (Comcast here) or available some other way.

When I started watching I thought it was Suzyn Waldman, so I thought about turning it off.

Assuming this is to me. I dont know. I dont have the WS discs.
Digging a bit, the RedSox youtube channel has them. Season Recap, Step 2, Step 3, The Final Step.

Thanks for that link. The season wrap up is worth watching just for the discussions behind the batting cage at the All Star game.
JD talking with Mookie about hitting and both of them analyzing Trouts stance. Really cool stuff.

I really like Uzo Aduba as an actress, but she does a really poor job of voiceover for this. She has no feel for it at all. Overall, it was fun to watch,
I am bummed to hear there is no NESN film or otherwise that shows the regular season together with the postseason. Seems like a miscalculation to me. There should be funding for documenting the greatest season (by wins at least) of one of the oldest franchises in the history of the game.

Watching this for the first time on DVD right now and my favorite part is, during the interviews, Steve Pearce’s constant state of “None of this actually happened. No way.”

Is this the same content as the WS discs? If not, better? Worse?
I have only seen the disc, but every detail mentioned here is on the disc, so I am pretty sure they are the same.

I think the narration is perfectly fine; the voice was not typical for a sports video, but I kind of liked that. I thought Dennis Leary was a little hammy about being enthused Bawston guy on his, not that it really bugged me, but YMMV.
