Incidental contact is a thing. He hit him in the face and missed the ball. What other decision is there?
Going, but wasn't gone. That ball is in play?? It is clearly going oob. That is silly
No it isn’t. He whacked him in the face clearly. It is a very clear and obvious foul.Incidental contact is a thing.
Technically yea, but it is 10 feet in the air and a yard from the endline, so in reality the play is over. Even wo messi getting hit the ball is goneGoing, but wasn't gone.
He whacked him in the face but it came after it was headed out of play. Does stuff like that matter? No it isn’t. He whacked him in the face clearly. It is a very clear and obvious foul.
And I think you’re wrong. Incidental contact. Agree to disagree. No it isn’t. He whacked him in the face clearly. It is a very clear and obvious foul.
Doesn’t matter, a foul is a foul, there’s no requirement it stop a clear or even possible goal scoring opportunity.Technically yea, but it is 10 feet in the air and a yard from the endline, so in reality the play is over. Even wo messi getting hit the ball is gone
Doesn't matter if the play is over, if the ball is in play you can't whack the opponent.Technically yea, but it is 10 feet in the air and a yard from the endline, so in reality the play is over. Even wo messi getting hit the ball is gone
Ball wasn't out yet, until it's actually out it's a live playHe whacked him in the face but it came after it was headed out of play. Does stuff like that matter?
Ball was still in play, so that’s all that matters. You tackle the leg of someone in the box who’s not facing the goal and passing it backwards, it’s still a penalty. He whacked him in the face but it came after it was headed out of play. Does stuff like that matter?
The ball wasn't out of play yet. If it had crossed the boundary, it wouldn't have being a foul. The referee could still card the keeper if he so wished. He whacked him in the face but it came after it was headed out of play. Does stuff like that matter?
Yeah, but the defending team might feel Reamed by that decisionBall was still in play, so that’s all that matters. You tackle the leg of someone in the box who’s not facing the goal and passing it backwards, it’s still a penalty.
This is right. Probably a penalty but incidental and wasn't leading to anything. He didn’t score on it and we’re back where we startedI think what happened ended up being right - a close call but not egregiously awful, and a penalty being saved. I want Argentina to score, but from open play
Dude’s a decent story. Szczęsny started his professional career with Arsenal, got pretty seriously jerked around there IIRC, then went to Roma on loan for a couple years before a permanent to Juventus. He has one year under Buffon before taking the reins and doing well for himself. He was even nominated for a Lev Yashin in 2019.This goalie for Poland is playing great.
Like sm says, his first half is approaching GOAT single-game performance territory. This goalie for Poland is playing great.
Takes over from Fabianski, another Polish keeper who got a bad rap/raw deal at Arsenal then went on to be very good elsewhere.Dude’s a decent story.
