I run a WordPress site (not a .com site but I host it) and am in need to quickly export all the blog posts (there are more than 300) into Word or .txt files or anything that a normal non-web person can open on the computer. Ideally it'd be with the embedded images but that might not be possible.

I know you can export as a database file but I need to get them out as usable text for a non-techy person. Any ideas?

I'll do some research on this to see if there's a slick way to do this with free plugins, but there's a (somewhat clunky) way to do this natively.

1. Log into your Dashboard
2. Select Tools > Export from the left hand nav
3. Select Posts

This will create an XML file. From there, you can open it in Word. There will still be some stray XML markup though that may hinder your task.

Look for a CSV plugin, you can probably filter the fields there before you export. Once you have a csv you’ll have a lot more options to convert that to a human-friendly format. If you can filter you’ll also gain a huge advantage in how big the output is from WP.

Found this one with good reviews pretty quickly: https://wordpress.org/plugins/wp-all-export/

Thank you both! I didn't realize exporting the XML would allow me to open it in Word so it'd be readable to someone.

That plugin looks great too.
