Windows 10 update - can't print from Word doc

A big Windows 10 update ran on Wednesday:
2017-06 Update for Windows 10 Version 1703 for x64-based Systems (KB4022405).

Afterwards, I discovered that several Word documents were missing fonts, which I re-installed. The biggest problem is that nothing I try to print from a particular Word doc to my printer ever prints. Test pages print fine. Printing from Notepad works fine. Printing from LibreOffice works fine. Printing from other Word docs works fine. Troubleshooter finds no issues with the printer.

Nothing from this one doc ever makes it to the queue. No special permissions are set. I can edit and save the doc with no problem.

Any ideas?

Edit: I should say that I don't know that the Windows 10 update caused the problem, because I don't know what's causing the problem.. It's possible it's coincidental, but I assumed a connection because a couple of fonts (not used in this particular document) had gone missing after the update.

Well, it's just the one particular Word doc that won't print (from inside Word, not IE - I don't use IE any more anyway). I've copied the contents into a fresh blank doc and that won't print either. Other docs print fine....

What could I have in that doc that's a problem? It's just text.

Well, now, today it will print, but ranges are working strangely. For example, if I try to print pages 1-4, what prints is everything before that (title page, copyright page, TOC, introduction, etc.) and then the pages numbered 1-4.

I can live with that for the time being.

Thanks for the advice!

Just an FYI, but I had a similar situation with a Word (.docx) document. I could open it fine in Word 2016 but would always get hung up when printing. Open it with LibreOffice and it printed fine. Saved it from LibreOffice as .odt(?) format, opened that version in Word 2016, and it printed fine. Never could figure out why and the condition hasn't been replicated with any other docs.

ahhh, the file is not 'just text' it includes complex formatting and something in there is slightly wrong and Word is struggling to handle it. Some times saving a copy in a different format will correct this as it reparses the file (doc to docx for example), sometimes it will completely wreck it., no harm in trying...

Edit: lol was writing this while the Dr posted, great minds think alike and alll...
