Thanks. Are these specific to Carolina? Because I'd have to think that betting on someone other than a QB is a terrible, terrible bet. (If Carolina trades the pick, is the bet void, I mean?)

Those are the current updated odds if you want to bet on who the #1 overall pick will be. So it assumes that Carolina has the #1 pick & bakes in whatever likelihood they would trade the pick, which has to be remarkably small, especially to a non-QB wanting team.

Okay, thanks.

They should get Stroud but they'll psych themselves out with Richardson.
I think Stroud is the more likely pick, but I have to say signing Andy Dalton (who was actually very solid last year) moves the needle a bit in the Richardson direction. Having a veteran backup is good business regardless of the rookie you're selecting, but a guy that can start games and keep you afloat might be an indication they don't necessarily intend for the rookie to play, and Stroud would start day one.

My gut said AR when I heard the news the Panthers traded up and I’m sticking with it. It’s hard to argue with that kind of athletic ability. Definitely someone you can build an offense around. Florida kid going to Carolina. Just makes sense.

This is where I'm at, too. Neither Young nor Stroud are blue chip prospects ... they require some projection. And Carolina will say, "Hell, since we're projecting" ... and they'll tell themselves 85-90% of Richardson is probably better than 100% of either of the other two, etc.

I think Stroud. Too much risk with Richardson when you have your pick of the group. And Young's size is also pretty risky. I think all three will be good to great, but Stroud has the best odds.

I wonder if the Cardinals are looking to move out of 3. They're pretty married to Kyler & might be able to get some good value to move down to someone who wants the Panthers/Texans leftovers, but could hurdle the Colts.

I don’t think they’d go too far down. With the questions about Carter’s legal, maturity, and work ethic, team are really looking at 2 elite disruptive defenders - Anderson & Wilson. I think Arizona has to walk away with one of those guys to kick start the defensive rebuild.

in the end, I expect Stroud’s Georiga hame is going to carry a lot of weight. Stroud lined up against a lot of well coached NFL prospects and made play after play in every way possible.

My initial reaction to the trade was AR to bring back memories of Cam but I don't think you bring in Frank Reich to work with AR. Stroud seems to be much more the type of QB Reich would work well with. I also think people underestimate Stroud's athleticism a bit. He didn't run at OSU because he didn't have to but that doesn't mean he can't run at all. He isn't AR as no one is but I think Stroud is equally as athletic as Bryce Young with a much bigger frame.
