Pittsburg. And despite my loathing of Steeler Nation, I will be very happy for the city and Pirates fans. That will be the only feel good aspect of this.

No one. The Sox have a steep price and there are other arms on the market that teams can fall back on.

Pirates v Cardinals staring contest. I think the Pirates blink and include Bell.

And Cash offers him 150 the second FA begins.

I bet cubs.  They should have some money to spend, and need some pitching to go with all those young hitters.

Like who? Ian Kennedy? Hamels? Lee? Danks? I don't think there's as much out there for a reasonable price as you suggest, at least not for anyone who's really worth it.

I said Pirates and I actually think the Cubs might end up signing him in the offseason. Well, at least, I hope it's them if not the Red Sox.

I don't think teams are going to meet the Red Sox demands.

I don't know who he is going to sign for, but I suspect it's going to be like 7/175.  Good for him.

The offers will not be acceptable and they won't trade him.  Signs extension for 5/120 before FA.

They aren't resigning him.  So if they get any offer that's better than a comp pick they'd be idiots to not take it.  He's gone.

I have no tweets, evidence, rumor, innuendo or anything else to back me up on this, but I'm voting "other" for the short term: Atlanta.

For the long term, I'd say there's an okay chance that the Red Sox re-sign him, but I think it's more likely to be Seattle or the MFY. I'm going with Seattle to be different, thinking he may be enough of a maverick to go home. He doesn't strike me as a Broadway kind of guy.

I think he's traded to Toronto and signs with the Yankees in the off-season.

Edit: Although I hope he goes to the Pirates.

I'm not sure if the Red Sox will move him today.

The Yankees will not go into next season without a top of the rotation starter -- Tanaka will probably miss the entire season and Sabathia isn't the same guy.  That means that either Scherzer or Lester end up on the Yankees.  The Yankees will want the Lefty.  Moreover, Scherzer will cost a high pick, whereas the Yankees can sign Lester (if he is traded today) without giving up their first round pick.

This is going to go down right until 4, Ben will wait to see who blinks. At this point after all this I can't see him not testing free agency, the Red Sox aren't going to match the top offer. It's not happening, 6/150 is the minimum I see him getting on the open market. I think lackey ends up staying, he's not retiring at the end of the year. I can see Ben not getting a deal for his liking. My guess is deal will be announced at 420, Lester to the Pirates for Bell and pieces.

He's traded to the Pirates today for Josh Bell (though I prefer Meadows) + ? and in the off-season, rebuffs the largest offer from the MFY to sign a significant offer, (much more than the Sox care to match) to go home to the Mariners.
