I don't know if it will be a firm regular thing only with Hill. I think if the Sox hadn't come back to tie today's game in the 6th, we might not have seen him. At least not while they were still trailing. Odds are they'll be aiming to pair him with Hill since strategically it would be the best contrast, but depending on need, he will probably be used to follow others as well (like he was on Friday).
The "plan" is one thing, but no matter how many starts Hill makes, there will be games where he's so bad that Whitlock wont come in down 12-0. There will be games when Hill is either great or so-so, but the Sox are ahead by enough that he wont come in, etc etc. The plan is a limiting factor in that the day or 2 before a Hill start he might not be available, but there will be enough variability in Hill's/the offense's performance that I think we'll see a lot of non-piggyback Whitlock.

Wiscansin, by way of Attleboro
He honestly sounds like a guy who's just thrilled to be a major league pitcher and almost can't believe his good fortune. Which, frankly, is an attitude I like. It's the opposite of feeling entitled.
I remember reading about how dark things felt for him when he was rehabbing his way back. Not a huge fan of most folks Christianity when it's out in front, particularly in sports, but it does sound like he's just exuding gratitude right now. That's very ok in my book.

Not saying I'd drink a beer with him, because it does feel like he might treat every single interaction like a save situation for Jesus, but I'd definitely take a beer from him. And I absolutely trust him dealing with the devil in the batter's box.

Save situation for Jesus is now my favorite phrase so thanks for that.

Cora said on the radio pregame that Whitlock will start Saturday. (unless they have to use him in relief today or tomorrow).
