Oh Romeo your outlook was rosy

Your floor was no less than James Posey,

Rode your high school rep to the NBA,

One of those guys who must prove he can’t play,

Likewise, Aaron you were best in the draft,

Workouts with no D you mastered your craft,

You battled for the odd garbage time dunk,

But shot 3-pointers like a concussed drunk,

But oh how we wished, and projected your fame,

Well beyond evidence shown by your game,

Each Celtic weakness could be washed away,

If Dumb Ime or Dim Brad would let you play,

Come Yam, and JD it now falls to you,

When the C’s lose, and we want something new

So who are the new lottery tickets we press to our chests with hope?
I actually really like JD Robinson. seems like a guy Toronto would draft and turn into a rotation guy.

They actually do have a really interesting prospect in Juhann Begarin who has NBA size and athleticism and could be a Spurs-esque Euro flyer that turns into something if his offensive game develops.

Pretty good write up from a European scout this spring on Madar and Begarin's seasons. Madar has some skills but isn't an NBA level athlete. Begarin is a 6'5 athlete but needs to develop more skills. The scout even mentions they're a bit opposite each other, saying Begarin has all the physical tools to be an NBA defender while describing Madar as "miles behind Pritchard."

We'll get to see Begarin in the Summer League but it looks like Madar chose to stay overseas and play in some international games for Israel.

Sam Hauser should get a mention here. More likely than Begarin, Madar, or Davison to make some sort of impact in the NBA. His ceiling is role player who can shoot.

Edit: He had 158 minutes in the league during which he shot 19-44 from three. According to cleaning the glass, about half of that was in non-garbage time situations, during which he shot 42% from three.

Hauser is the most interesting one by far. If he can play defense at "Duncan Robinson, but 20% less awful", he gets very interesting. If he plays it at "just Duncan Robinson" levels, he won't see much time.

It seems that Brad approaches the second round looking for NBA athleticism (Begarin, Davison) in search of skills and UFA’s as NBA skills (Hauser, Williams) in search of athleticism.

I always thought he must be a guy that was going crazy watching Nesmith and Romeo get chance after chance when he has been the better player at the pro level.

it would be better if replies were sonnets, but tell me more.
How about limericks?

There once was a wing named Sam Hauser
Runs so slow you might think he's only wearing 1 trouser
He doesn't play D
But is deadly from 3
& is 7 inches taller than Jeff Blauser

There once was a point guard named Yam
Might gain some weight if he just ate more ham
Passes the ball decently
But opted out of SL recently
& would have issues if he switched onto Bam

Juhann Begarin hails from Guadeloupe
He seems to have lost the ability to shoot
He is very athletic
& rather energetic
He has the highest upside of this whole group

There once was a point guard from Bama
He elevates high for the slamma
His hair is divine
& looks like a lion
Umm...Nelly sings Country Grammer

Well we do have that kid from France
Will he play summer league perchance?
He is an athlete that’s tres magnifique
Even more than the one called Greek geek
So there’s good chance he’ll be my bromance

Rhyming Haiku?

Hauser has slow feet
Off the dribble can be beat
Shot must be elite

Yam has nice handle
Like mini Julius Randle
Tends to reach, gamble

Fun to watch Juhann
Revenge draft spot like Zohan
Not much to go on

Finally, JD
Left 3 years before degree
Hair must be weighty

Oh yes, let them begin the Begarin, make them play
Till the stars that were there before return above you,
Till you whisper to me once more,
"Darling, I love you!"
And we suddenly know, what heaven we're in,
When they begin the Begarin.
