Hear there’s a mystery team on Cole. Hard to imagine anyone thinks they are coming in late and outbidding the Yankees and 2 LA teams (even if one’s in Anaheim). No idea the identity of said team, but that’s why it’s a mystery.

my bold prediction: the Angels are going to be stupid and offer 8 years, over 300M. then be unhappy.

I think it's coming down to a bidding war between the Yanks and the Angels, and that it will end up being at least 8 years and $288 - 300m (36-37.5 AAV). If either is willing to go to 9 years (and about 325), that might clinch it.
this is probably what happened with the report the Angels were just short of 300.

Yeah, Dewey’s Cannon nailed it there, impressive. The Dodgers were evidently right up with NY also, I’m sure we’ll get more details soon.
