Looks like it had only happened in the playoffs three times before, most recently to Chicken Parm in 1993. Before that, Denis Savard in 1985 and Lanny McDonald in 1977.

Edmonton haven’t gotten another yet, but this version of their team is incredibly formidable. When they use their superpowers to forecheck and work hard in the greasy areas I feel like they take away a bit of what makes them great but also become harder to beat.

After watching two rounds, it’s pretty clear. The harder working team usually ends up winning in the playoffs. Talent goes far. But often not quite far enough.

Oilers outworked the Knights in the first period and the game could have been 4-1, but then they went in the locker room and regressed.
