Sparty got screwed. Why do they get Duke and Michigan gets the Zags?

Gonzaga got a brutal draw: Cuse, FSU and either Michigan or Texas Tech

Actually, Marquette/Murray State might be the most exciting first round game.

Vermont has a real shot against FSU. They’re a real solid club led by Anthony Lamb who could play in any conference in the country. Uvm will zone FSU up and make them make jump shots. There will be a huge UVM contingent in Hartford as well.

Vermont got screwed being matched up against a team that is all like 7’3” tall
Yeah FSU is a looooooooooooinnnngggg team. Can UVM hit their threes? They’re not getting any decent chances in the paint.

Was really hoping they’d be here in Jacksonville. I have tickets for the night games Thursday. Speaking of which, when do start times get announced?

That draw was a gift to the Cuse. I'm not sure why NC State was left out of the tournament.
Per the folks that left them out, they had a lot of chances to win games that would have looked good on resume and couldn't do it.

Not to mention, there's this slate of OOC games: Mt. St. Mary's, Md-Eastern Shore, UNC-Asheville, Maine, Saint Peter's, and Mercer, Western Carolina, SC-Upstate, and Loyola-Md. The Auburn win was nice, but Penn St and Vandy sucked, so that didn't help. There just wasn't much there.

Plus, perhaps the committee was scared they'd score 24 points in a game again.

Terrible non conference strength of schedule and the combined record of the teams they beat in the ACC was 47-115. The NET liked them but I'm not surprised they were left out.

Cuse and FSU potential matchups cause me major mental angst ...
Aren't you always saying ACC is over rated year after year? I feel like i could go back and dig it up.

Jesus guy, you're breaking my heart. I don't know anything about NCAAB but I looked at the bracket to see what the Noles had and my uninformed reaction was "This looks pretty damn favorable" and here you come to crush my hopes and dreams.

There is no way around this. MSU gets a tough region with Duke lurking in the regional final, while Michigan’s draw is comparatively easy.

That’s not a slight of Gonzaga, by the way. They are a deserving number 1.

I'm biased, but yes the Zags should worry about Cuse.
Frank Howard is finally healthy.
He came into this season as a 5th yr Senior PG. He avg.14.4 pts last season and had a great summer (according to Boeheim). He was a mock 2nd rounder on some draft boards to open the season. Then he injured his foot a week before the season started. Add in Buddy Boeheim's emergence as a 3pt threat off the bench.

Cuse seems to do better in the tournament when they are overlooked with no expectations.

I still have serious mental trauma from that 2016 game and the zone Cuse ran. Never count out a Boeheim team when they hit the tournament.

Any confidence I have in the Cuse should lead the Zags to prepare for Baylor :)

If a team hasn't played against a 2-3 all year, and they decide to move the ball around the perimeter then it can be troublesome.
If your team attacks the middle, pump fakes our BIG, draws fouls or kicks out for step in 3s they'll have success.

Rollie Massimino jokingly called Boeheim's 2-3 the "Hands Up Harry" defense, according to a friend of mine that played for him at Nova.

Best shooter on the St John's roster would have been their 55 year old head coach.

Bets ball-handler on the ASU roster would have been their 47 year old head coach.

Seemed like only way the Johnnies could score was on a turnover.

St John's is such an terribly coached team on the floor. Mullin does a great job getting the players there which is an enormous part of his responsibility but the sets they run are something awful.
