Between the NBA and NHL, plus throw in MLS and MLB, this is going to be the most amazing and unique next few months probably in sports history. It's like march madness on steroids, sports all day every day.
And for many sports fans who are WFH, there are no bosses to avoid when the TV is on across the room. (Sadder still for many of us, there is no actual work to do.)

If the goal is to make Philly look small, that's how you do it. Having a front court with any three of those guys would be big. It wasn't as tall, but this reminds me of the garbage time beef lineup the Celtics put out a few times last year.

Bol Bol is really interesting. Highly rated prospect, but with a lot of questions about his actual ability outside of his size and athleticism. Played well in limited time at Oregon, then had the super-scary foot problems and free fell in the draft. If Denver can get any potential out of him or Michael Porter Jr., it was incredibly savvy drafting and player development.

NHL and MLB seem like they could start and stop, depending on what happens.
I actually think NHL will be fine too. They seem to have the best plan outside of NBA and given that Canada has handled this far far better than the US has, I think they'll be ok. MLB is fucked and NFL is either going to have seriously large amounts of big name guys back out or like you said, something bad is gonna happen. I'd place a lot of money on them not getting anywhere close to through a season, fuck the players or not.

He said he didnt want to be there weeks before they reported. He's trying to get kicked out.

Even allowing for that factor, Lou Will was one of the odds on favorites to burst the bubble given what we know about him. Its was only a matter of time.

Asking to leave for family obligations and hanging out at a strip club. He just wanted out to go eff around.
Let's grant your hypothetical that he performed no family duties. I don't think it's a good precedent to set that players that leave the bubble must be restricted to certain activities. Not only is that likely not part of the CBA, it would also compromise contact tracing if a player does test positive.

It's still the first half, but the Embiid-less Sixers are having their way with the OKC team that manhandled the C's on Friday evening.

Lou Will will be quarantined for 10 days and will miss the first two Clippers games-that-count, whereas if he'd just gone to the wake, he'd have been out for 4.

A very weird policy to have different quarantine levels based on risk of a planned outing. There's no way to know who guys will interact with/where they will go when out of the bubble - LouWill was outed only due to a buddy's instragram photo. They should assume the worst on anyone who leaves the bubble and give them that same 10 days on their return.

Yes. The NBA is doing a great job overall, but this doesn't make any sense to me. The bubble's integrity relies on making sure entrants are clean. If that requires 10 days, then it takes 10 days. What if his family were infected?

He’s still being tested daily while out of the bubble and the minimum quarantine upon return is 4 days with four negative tests along with negative results from the days they were out of the bubble. It’s not perfect, but it seems pretty reasonable to me. It lets a guy like Hayward see the birth of his daughter in the conference finals and be back in time to help us in the finals.

The negative tests from before entering the bubble mean nothing if he contacts someone with the disease on the last day - the incubation clock starts all over again. I understand why some people might enjoy the policy. I'm sure many would also enjoy being able to invite people to their hotel rooms. It just seems like a strange risk to take when the league is making it a point to isolate themselves from society. If one player gets it, an entire team or teams can be shut down.

Err on the side of caution is an mantra that should be taken seriously after all we've collectively experienced. The 10 day/4 day difference based on what a guy says he'll be doing makes no sense, as this case shows since Williams was found out on a fluke.

As I said when they shut down the season as the first sport to take action: This is what leadership looks like.

As I say again.

The NHL shut down within hours of the NBA and also had no positive tests in the most recent round of testing.

But, also glad it's back and the bubble is working.

So the grad plan is to control the population....and make them wear masks? That makes Dr. Evil’s demand for ONE MILLION DOLLARS.look like a stroke of genius. And who is behind this grand conspiracy? Big mask manufacturers?

Hard to interpret what he is trying to say. "Population control" often means trying to control the size of the population. But, it reads a little bit more like it is being used to control the population; i.e. control what they are doing. But, if that's the case, to what end? Who is benefiting from this pandemic exactly?

Zoom executives are the clear culprit

Yeah. His made-up definition of population control is great. Literal and great.

Very excited at the job the NBA has done to get things rolling again. Can't wait for tomorrow night.

I can’t decide who I want for the 8th seed in the west. I love Zion, Ja, and Dame and can’t decide who I’d want to make it

The one negative of the social messages on jerseys is I have a tough time remembering some of the players' names with the long break. Nice move, who just got that bucket?! Oh, "Freedom" did.

I'm so happy basketball is back. Not only that, it's all high quality basketball outside of Nets/Wiz. This is awesome
