Welcome back to the Celtics (for 10 days anyway) Coty Clarke!

My greatest recollection of him years ago at Arkansas was as an undersized poor mans Sully used as a rotation big. He was in camp with us and most recently with the Red Claws.

Can't see him being much of a factor in fact I predict he will end up being best remembered for Scott Souza breaking the story of his signing by incorrectly spelling his name (it's Coty, not Cody) in his tweet. GJGE ;)

Nice recognition for a kid playing well in Maine. Unlike Sully he's actually a good 3 point shooter, and seems to rack up a lot of assists. But you're right, not likely to make an impact.

Not a bad way to reward an NBDL guy who maybe one day is good enough to have a choice as to where he plays in the NBA and remembers the gesture.
As was pointed out on CelticsNuts aside from a gesture the Celtics on have only two games between March 5th and 15th (on 9th and 11th) so there will be 2-3 full practices during Clarke's 10-days which isn't the norm for NBA teams in the second half of the year. He'll be useful to some degree as an extra practice body.

do 10-day contract players receive game checks, or get paid for the 10 days on the roster?

Back in the late 1970s I worked in a bank and I remember a couple of Fridays when 2 members of the Celts would come in on a Friday afternoon and wait until we had switched to the next business day at 2PM (we'd close out the day at 2PM to settle accounts and then all transactions would post the following business day) so they could cash their paychecks.

Yes, it's the two you're thinking.

Awesome story! It really is hard to fathom that Wicks and Rowe were stalwarts for some of those legendary UCLA teams.
