What a defensive game from Baltimore. Really interested to see them against KC or a healthy Buff, could be an awesome game.

Serious question: is Matthew Berry a true fantasy expert? Like has anyone tallied up his predictions against what you’d expect from Joe sitting at the local bar?

I get why he’s on NBC’s telecast as a featured presenter (GAMBLING), mind you.
No, Berry is awful. He's also truly painful to listen to. At least Joe at the bar isn't a douche and asshole.

What he is good at is trumpeting his good calls. If he makes 50 predictions, maybe 2 will come true. And 1 of those 2 might be a Justin Fields style call. And Berry will make sure to mention that call one thousand times.

Here's why a lot of fantasy analysis or whatever sucks--I don't use ESPN's rules (I know he's not there anymore, but whatever)--from scoring system to league size. These "experts" are out here saying "pick up Player X from waivers this week, he's unowned in 72% of ESPN leagues". Fool, he's been on a roster all year in my league. The leading rusher NOT on a team has 37 yards on the season.

My favorite is when they list the top 50 WRs of the week. Come on.

Yes, the roster percentages analysis is brutal.

You are right, any player rostered in more than 30% of ESPN leagues is rostered in 100% of every real 12 team league in the universe. That is useless, unless you're in a 8 team league. Then that roster percentage might help.

LOL I used to think he was slipping a lot, particularly this past game against the Cardinals where he fell a yard short instead of fighting for a first down.

ESPN probably has a ridiculous number of dead leagues where people drafted and then ignored the team, then everyone in that league did the same. Public leagues are always terrible like that. They should only count private leagues that are active. But then they can't trumpet these numbers either to make themselves look good.

Well, it's one way to keep from getting your head taken off and getting concussed. Marvin Harrison (a fan favorite here at SoSH) used to do something similar, and while it may seem kind of weak, it does keep you on the field for probably a long time.
