As bad as Texas looks overall (the offense and special teams are a horror show), the defense has looked fantastic. That should be enough to get them to 6 wins, even if it means just getting them against the dreck of the Big 12.
I'll believe it when I see it.

Texas' day in Dallas:

- inexcusable ST play
- poor decision-making by Swoopes in critical situations
- terrible coaching and preparation on the offense - 10 offensive penalties
- terrible clock management
- defensive lapses when they needed to step up and make a play
- inexplicable play calling with the option

This is not a good football team. They have a really, really long way to go and a lot of mistakes to correct before they can be relied on to play consistently. I don't know how much of that is on the coaches and how much is on the players, but we will continue to blow games unless all of that stuff gets corrected. And our schedule doesn't get any easier. We'll be fortunate to win four, maybe five games this year unless they turn things around by next week.

Baylor responds with a 66 yard td to preseason all American Antwan Goodley.  14-7 TCU.  Teams are throwing deep on every other play.  Pretty fun to watch so far.

Auburn now down 21-0 and all the momentum in Miss.'s favor.  That place is rocking.  Going to be tough for Auburn to get back into it.

And the Auburn kicker just hooked the shit out of a 27 yard field goal.  Ain't going to come back doing shit like that.

UNC jumped out to a 14-0 lead on the Irish, and the Irish just scored 2 td's to end the first quarter.  No doubt in my mind we see ND in the playoff this year.  UGGH.

By the way, UNC has a coach on the sideline with the title "Supervisor of Morale," who is wearing a Brandon Tate(?) Bengals jerseys.

Edit: it's a Russell Bodine #61 shirt

Sick effort by UNC QB, Williams to get in for the score.  Tie game against ND, 21-21 if they make the extra point.

If Mississippi State makes a bowl game, (outlook: promising) they'll have more patches on their shirt than a NASCAR driver.

I can't wait until Dan Mullen turns down the Michigan job this winter.
You're one to talk! ND took a looooong time to find a coach who wasn't a joke

Assuming they make the extra point, Baylor just tied up TCU at 24 after a bomb to Freshman super stud, KD Cannon.

This may be the best three hours of football all season, and I just squandered several minutes of it watching OSU at Kansas.

astride the divide
And lousy game management by Louisville, Clemson holds. First down pass to the 2, clock still running, run stuffed on second down, clock still running, more than 30 seconds left and no timeouts, Louisville clocks the ball on third down and incomplete on fourth. They had plenty of time to run two plays there, no need to waste a down to stop the clock. Bah.

Last week, Central Michigan RB, Thomas Rawls, had 40 carries.  He finished with 229 yards and 2tds.

Apparently, they didn't think he needed much rest because he had 40 carries this week too.  But, he finished with 270 yards and 2td's.  That's 80 carries for 499 yards over 2 weeks.  I'm not sure, but I'm guessing at least one of those stats is a record.

In the second game of the season, he had 31 carries for 155 yards and 2td's, but he then missed the next 2 games with injury.  They won that game, and they won the most recent 2 games, so if winning is what matters, I would expect Mr. Rawls to get 35+ carries a game going forward.
