I can't believe I find myself rooting for Dallas. I feel dirty, but really, I hate both of these teams.
I can make you feel worse. Next week the Dolphins are celebrating the 50th anniversary of their undefeated team. If the Eagles lose tonight, they can do so while taking their annual sips of champagne.

Yeah, that was dumb.
I was looking over Long Island Sound as this happened looking to the north and the moon was hanging low in the sky and the clouds were across the moon making it look like a piece of cheese or even a slice of pizza and I was doing the math in my head about the Eagles going for 2 in this situation and I asked myself “am I hallucinating all of this right now?”

There are 10 teams with 3-3 records after Sunday's games. If Denver beats the Chargers on Monday night, there'll be 12

Lol, absurd. 11 of 16 ATTEMPTS behind the line of scrimmage, 1 completion past the line of scrimmage, the same number of targets 5 or more yards behind LOS as 5 or more yards past it.

That is not a team even attempting to win a football game.... (they lost). The Panthers scored 3 offensive points and never even attempted to pass downfield when trailing. They just played to not lose by too much (they lost by 14 only because they got a pick 6).

DJ Moore needs to go into Operation Shutdown. It’s a disgrace for an NFL team in 2022 not to be able to throw. I appreciate Zappe even more than I already did now.

Well Robbie Anderson got into two fights with his WR coach yesterday and the interim head coach threw him out and sent him to the lockerroom in the 4th so things are going great in that WR room.

I'm kinda baffled by the overall poor level of QB play we've seen this season. I guess Rodgers having nobody to throw to and Brady dealing with injuries in the OL/receivers and dogshit play calling helps a lot in bringing the overall quality down, but I haven't even been that impressed with Mahomes in 2022. Josh Allen is basically the only one balling out and should be the only QB in the MVP race at this point.

Mahomes was always going to regress, his ancillary numbers didn't support his main ones and his style of play is extremely risky. At some point he was going to stop getting away with his stupid decisions. He had an awful stretch in the middle of last year as well.

Rodgers is old, Brady is old and being sabotaged by team coaching staff.

Sure, but Joe Burrow has been meh, so has Herbert. Lamar started off hot and has since fizzled. Stafford has been awful. I don't know, seems like this is the worst QB play we've had in a while league wide.

Mahomes in 2018: 66%, 5,097 yds, 50 td, 12 int, 9.6 ay/a, 113.8 rating

Uh yeah, of course he was going to regress from that. It's not like anyone is capable of playing much better than that. Certainly not on a consistent basis. In his unreal career (stat-wise anyway), even Aaron Rodgers has only surpassed a 113.8 rating twice. Brady's only done it once. Peyton twice.

Mahomes was SO good early in his career, while making almost no money, and now he's not as good as he was (who could be?) but making a LOT more money. He's still great though, let's not kid ourselves.

I was thinking more about last year, or was it the year before, when FO had his expected interceptions as much higher than his actual interceptions and said to expect that to change going forward.

And just LOOK at the way he plays. Hero ball at it's highest level is still hero ball, and at some point running backwards for 30 yards then sidearming a flip pass was bound to backfire on him. And to some extent it has.

The top three QB Rating in the NFC are Hurts, Cooper Rush & Geno Smith. That's crazy.

8 teams in the NFL won this week with their QBs throwing less than 200 yards. EIGHT out of 13.

This year has been nuts.

I've talked about this with some other people. One thing we've noticed is a lot of teams playing defense with two high safeties, which theoretically prevents bigger plays from happening.

I also think defenses are catching up to the offensive evolution of the game and it has taken some time, but we are seeing changes in personnel that match up with what was happening on offense. Teams are playing more defensive backs and fewer linebackers, and the linebackers that are left are quicker and better in pass coverage. Gone are the days of the 265LB thumber to stop the run. Defensive tackles are lighter and quicker too; there are not that many Wilfork-like nose tackles left. It took time to phase out some of the outdated players and incorporate the new ones, but I think we are starting to see defense regain some footing in the game. Scoring is currently at 21.7 ppg across the league, which would be tied for the lowest total since 2009. In 2020, it was at 24.8 ppg, the highest total in history.

I’m not smart enough to know if JC Jackson was at fault on the blown coverage, but boy, sure seems like Bill made the right decision (yet again) to not overpay him.
