I don't recall ever seeing the kicker recover his own onside kick like that.
I was thinking the exact same thing....I've seen a lot of football games, but I'm not sure I've ever seen that happen, especially so easily and untouched.

I now see Jackson's thigh touched Hilton's heel, but why was Jackson so scared to definitively touch him down?

Jesus.

He thought he'd be called for DPI.

Thursday night football sucks, yet I will watch all of this. Goddammit
I am imagining Roger Goodell reading this comment while sitting in a high-backed leather chair in front of a glowing fireplace in a castle at the top of a craggily mountain in a thunderstorm and laughing, a high-pitched booming laugh tinged with evil.

Can we please have at least one competitive TNF this season? Please?

Houston really seems to not like the prime time games...the New England game is coming to mind all over again.

Oct. 16 7 N.Y. Jets at New England ----  doubtful
Oct. 23 8 San Diego at Denver ---- possible, but denver at home could be a blowout
Oct. 30 9 New Orleans at Carolina --- before the season i'd have said saints in a blowout.. now, it could be close
Nov. 6 10 Cleveland at Cincinnati ---- bengals in a blowout
Nov. 13 11 Buffalo at Miami . --- close, but meh.
Nov. 20 12 Kansas City at Oakland --- could be close, or KC could run away with it
Nov. 27 13 Seattle at San Francisco(Thanksgiving night) -- could be a classic, could be all seahawks
Dec. 4 14 Dallas at Chicago --- great matchup, could be a close game
Dec. 11 15 Arizona at St. Louis --- boring, but could be close
Dec. 18 16 Tennessee at Jacksonville ---- yuck

So, if Andrew Luck gets rid of his penchant for an occasional dumb pass into good coverage, which he may have done already, what QB is as good as him?

Folks will start realizing that Thursday nights are for college football.  It's too bad BYU's starting QB is out for the season after getting hurt because that could have been a pretty interesting game. Last week had Oregon losing.  The NCAA generally puts at least one good matchup on Thursdays.  This week is pretty bleh though.

I am so sick of these garbage games on Thursday. Get rid of them.

I say the same thing every week...then I end up watching 75% of the game.  Like a lot of America:
http://www.ibtimes.com/thursday-night-football-2014-are-nfl-blowouts-affecting-ratings-how-many-people-are-1700661

In Week 2, CBS began broadcasting its first of eight “Thursday Night Football” games that are also simulcast on the NFL Network. Halfway through its slate of games, "America’s Most-Watched Network" is reaping the benefits of broadcasting an extra night of football. An average of 16.2 million viewers are tuning into the first game of each NFL weekly schedule. The most recent Thursday night game increased CBS’s primetime viewership by 33 percent, as compared to last year.
Last Thursday, an average of 16.5 million viewers watched the Green Bay Packers beat the Minnesota Vikings, 42-10. Even though the game was a blowout, CBS still led all networks with a 9.9 rating, surpassing ABC’s 7.7 rating, and beating the combined rating of FOX (3.6) and NBC (3.3).

DJ Swearinger is quickly turning into some sort of Brandon Meriweather/Rodney Harrison hybrid.  I can't tell if he's going to be an All-Pro or kicked out of the league five years from now.

I fucking hate the automatic 1st down for defensive holding. Make it a 10 yard penalty like on offense.
Yes!
I hate when it's 3rd and 20 and the defense gets called for holding or illegal touching and it's a 1st down.
Make it a 3rd and 10. It's such an easy fix.

I think the feeling is that holding a wide receiver is often a desperation move by the defender to prevent a possible long gain or a touchdown. So, relatively severe penalty. I'd rather see the PI penalty go the college way than change the defensive holding penalty.

Why does it have to be either/or?

Seems strange to go for a two-point conversion in the third quarter. I think you should always take the points with so much time left in the game.

Wow, that's an enormous miss.  But c'mon Billy O'B, act like you've been there before.  Lots of time let against a defense that's giving up tons of yards.

And for the Colts: win or lose, that defense is an enormous problem.

Yup. A TD plus 2 FGs wins it for Houston

Better question: why does your name still have 2 "i"s instead an i and a y?

Indy's point total of 33 thus far can be sung to the tune of "Twelve Days of Christmas":

Four touchdowns,
Three extra points,
Two field goals,
and a failed two-point conversion.

Also, I've been drinking.
