Andrew Luck not expected to start tonight per Adam Schefter.  Matt Hasselbeck is expected to start and was also in the hospital until 2 AM on Tuesday dealing with a very serious virus.  Both QBs have not thrown a pass in practice this week according to Schefter.  Not a good look going into tonight's game.

My list of being very wrong on things is quite long but I expect the Texans D to show up big tonight and win big. Feels like one of those signature JJ Watt type games. Kind of unreal that a Houston win puts them in first place considering how awful they have been thus far.

It's the right thing to do in terms of fairness, but matchups like tonight's are the downside of the NFL's practice of having each team play exactly one Thursday game per season. If this were an early game on Sunday, no one outside Indiana and east Texas would watch. That's why people complain about the quality of TNF, even though statistically the games are no more sloppy than games played on Sunday or Monday.

It does seem like there's a tremendous amount of sloppy football being played this year. Am I romanticizing the past? Are the games not more eye-rolling now than they used to be?

I keep asking myself the same question. I've felt similar for a few years though and others disagreed.

To me, 07 pats were the last really great team even though they blew it. That was a team that if you just made the roster you were legitimately good.

I compare these current teams to something like the early 90s Cowboys and I think it's laughable. I don't know what combination of cap and not being able to practice and rule changes have led to it, but so few teams are solid all around.

It's amazing to me that Bill O'Brien is sticking with Ryan Mallett at this point.  Hoyer had a few terrible drives, and a couple good ones, against a reasonably tough Chiefs defense in the first game of the season and was benched after being assured by BOB that he'd get to "play a while" as starter to begin the season.  Mallett came in and looked, for the most part, terrible, then Hoyer came back and played great in garbage time against the Falcons.  To me, Hoyer seems to be a much better leader and he has a much better control of the offense that the Texans are trying to run, and it's ridiculous that Mallett continues to piss away the Texans' chances this season because he can't complete simple passes to open receivers.

And yes, I fully expect Mallett to put up a 375 yd, 4 TD, 0 INT night to prove me wrong tonight.

BOB thinks he knows what he's got in Hoyer, whereas Mallett has some upside.

I was asking. Radio team not really on things. As far as the good call, I still haven't seen enough bad call on the Colts to make up for that Wayne gift in 06. Yeah I hold grudges.
