With the Yankees in the ALDS against the Sox and this game next week (and the NBA coming up right after), the servers may be fried by Tuesday.
Bar none, this is THE best time of year for sports. Helps Pats are back always, Celtics have a death lineup and are deep for the long haul this season, and it's likely the best Sox team of my young life, facing the MFY I'm the poatsepost. Just...wow. I think the Celtics have my edge but daaaamn it is close.

I understand people focusing on the 17 point total and the fact that Luck/Ebron are good...but that second half showed a huge number of vulnerabilities in the D. There are some real gaps there.

I’m a super Pats homer and will gut anyone who criticizes Brady.

The defense is not good. It wasn’t good last year. It’s not good this year. Doesn’t mean they can’t overcome it. But the D is not good.

If the Sox can do their job, these next two weeks are going to be so off the charts amazing as a sports fan. Playoff baseball every night. Good NFL match-ups and the Celtics rolling out their shitty, slow, underperforming line-up...er, wait, I am reading the Port Cellar too much. But you get my drift. I am old AF and this is a great time to be a Boston sports fan.

If you are freaking out about the D, watch some other games on Sunday. There aren't more than a handful of teams in the league that can actually play defense. Right now the Pats are middle of the pack.

Wow. 12 catches for 149 yards and 3 TDs on 18 targets by their tight ends today. I guess we know what they have to work on.

Not sure how young you are, but I would not personally take this Sox roster over the 2004 team’s, wins be damned.

Seriously, the Patriots are beating KC. With the mini-bye and all the pieces in place, not to mention the putrid Chiefs defense, the Pats are going to be incandescent next Sunday night.
This. I take the Patriots coaching, QB and TE and even their middling defense over Kansas City's every fucking time.

As bad as the D is, Brady is worse. Can’t tackle for shit and can’t stay with anyone in coverage, probably.

I agree, but I think they’ll lose in Chicago.

People were well within their rights to criticize the D for Weeks 2 and 3 as they weren't even competitive. The last 2 games are worth building on. Sure there are items to clean up, but if the offense is back to humming at a high level they don't need to be the '85 Bears. Middle of the pack D is good enough to go a long ways. Improve the pass rush and 3rd down defense and it will go a long ways in correcting itself.

I was just going to post this. I don't think folks realize just how hard it is to have a "good" defense in today's NFL. Everything is stacked against the defense now. Any time you hold a team to under 21, I would imagine there is like 80% chance of winning the game. It's not like it was even, 10 years ago. Even good defenses like Minnesota and Houston are getting shredded. You have to outscore opponents in today's NFL, and if anything, the last two weeks should remind folks that the Pats, at full strength, can hang with anyone offensively. Without the 3 "drops" today, they probably score over 50. That's impressive no matter who you are playing and those drops don't usually turn into picks.

I'm fucking giddy. And you aren't even mentioning the Bruins, who followed the beatdown last night with a solid 4-0 win on the road today. They found a goalie.
