Post-game, I think it's Reiss grilling Mayo over the defenders continuing to fail to set the edge.

If/when we get a top 5 draft pick and draft a LT, will we need to sit him for a season so he doesn't get hurt? Or do those rules only apply to QBs?

definitely feels like the hyped "letting guys play free and aggressive" tweaks to the system have failed, they are playing freely out of position

hope u win next week if not u can dream about a LT or travis hunter
Best case scenario for them is they are bad enough to be in a QB slot which they trade for a good return. They need to hit a few drafts and best way to do that is have a lot of picks.

I didn't follow the offseason at all. Was Mayo suggesting that Do Your Job and discipline were on their way out under him?

Bedard's notes on the game include a great finish about Mayo, "You look like you're playing not too lose (or too badly), similar to the last guy in the last couple of years.":

Mayo needs to stop playing so conservative: He should have gone for the fourth down on the opening drive. It was a perfect chance for his team to assert themselves, tell the 49ers we're here to win and we're not going away. Punting there was way too conservative (and can we please stop with trying to draw people offsides? You look like a bunch of amateurs). Mayo should have told Alex Van Pelt to dial up something aggressive on 4th and 1 with 8:11 after a timeout. Mayo should have called a timeout after Purdy fumbled at the 49ers 8 with 1:30 left to give them a shot at touchdown before half to get some momentum.

You're an underdog for a reason. Turn the page from last week (or change the page as Mayo says it), and show your team you have some confidence in them. You look like you're playing not too lose (or too badly), similar to the last guy in the last couple of years. No risk it, no biscuit.

let assume u have the qb for now anyway

to me it seems u only have h heary pop dougluas and owulud to build around on off

let assume u get barrmore back lets say gonzalex and peppers and barrmore is 3 more guys to be a 10-11 winning team u need at least 8-12 solid starters at best right now u have 7

yeah that a good take sometime i play sports games online in madden i punt way too much but in 2k i full court press i only graud the 3 its funny i dont like the lakers but i love their 'showtime' off i try to do that with a late 80's det def

my point is when u are suppose to lose go for the thoat best case u can get 1-2 shock plays in for easy scores

not exactly, but he and Covington (and some players) talked about how they wanted guys to play free and be aggressive and the undertone was that they thought under Bill they were too passive

Better question is if they get a top 5 pick and don’t draft a LT, then what?

the assumption that their first round pick will be an OT is a bad one

it’s very possible they don’t draft a LT in round 1 and run it back with Lowe/Wallace/practice squad guys with some garbage heap veteran like Okorafor

of course it’s also very possible they draft a LT early and the guy sucks or isn’t day 1 ready in which case it’s Lowe and Wallace again
