deep inside Guido territory
Big game against an opponent we need the tiebreaker advantage against for down the road. Should be able to have a good day offensively against a bad Baltimore defense.

Update on the Fox game at 1 in NYC: It is now Eagles/Commnaders. Damn.

I'm headed over to Berlin for the marathon... anyone know of any good places that will show NFL games? I've done a google and have some ideas but I'd rather trust someone with experience. Thanks!

For people watching on tv, this is a Fox game and fellow NYC area residents this game will be on here locally.
No, it won't be. The Jets are home at 1 and you can't have a game opposite that unless it's the Giants.

Edit: I actually just went back and looked and they changed it to Eagles/Commanders. Dammit.
Unless the rules have changed, there shouldn't even be a game on FOX at 1. You can't show a game opposite a local home game unless it's a Jets/Giants situation.

I believe it has changed. IIRC, local markets can put out of market games against the local market team up to 4 times per year.
Looks like you're right - my apologies. They may just show two games everywhere on whatever network has the doubleheader. Both networks had it in Week 1 and every market had two games on both channels while everyone got two CBS games last week. FOX has it this week, so it looks like everyone will get an early game there too.

I have very low expectations for this one, but I'm hoping to be able to watch, which is more than I can say for the last game. The Ravens just feel like a tier above the Pats, even if their defense struggled with the Dolphins last week, and I'm not sure the Pats have the WRs to take advantage of that secondary. Maybe they can do a decent job of bottling up Jackson, but they aren't going to shut him down completely, and I have a hard time seeing an offensive explosion out of the Pats this week, so a mediocre showing by the BAL offense is probably enough to get it done. A 23-16 loss would feel like a good showing by the home team, even if disappointing.

Just picked up food for tailgating. My first game since COVID and I only went to one game in 2019. Pretty excited for a nice 1pm game.

Well, I’m going to be reading about it in the paper if we don’t get the true, full story why he was traded before game time. I’m out.
I'm planning on going down to the 50 yard line and screaming at Bill for a full explanation in pre-game. I'll send you my Venmo ID if I need to be bailed out of jail. I'm not standing for this with no explanation.

My family got a puppy. It was my wife’s idea but my wife has high anxiety and is having trouble with the decision to get a dog. Last night I slept on the sofa next to the pupper. She’s housebroken and woke me at 5 to pee. Never fell back asleep.

We had signed up for doggie kindergarten classes which have met every Sunday at 1. Haven’t watched a Pats game yet this season.

Doggie kindergarten got cancelled this week as the teacher has Covid which means me and the puppy are driving up to Maine to watch the game with a buddy. Pretty stoked. Home grown and good beer. Hope the Pats put up a fight / start to build some momentum.

I still think Meyers is the Pats most important WR - could see some ugly series. Sort of like when Edelman was unavailable in late stage Brady games .

There has been nobody else that could make tough catches on 3rd downs

Maybe somebody else will emerge with Macs security blanket gone

Bourne should threaten to walk from the team if he doesn’t get more snaps.

We can call it

The Bourne Ultimatum.

Kinda weird that this game is on Fox yeah? Not complaining as I’m in a hotel in Fort Lauderdale and I’m happy I won’t be blocked out by the phins/bills game though.

Semi related… my hotel is completely overrun by the mafia. These are some odd people.

edit: bills mafia

I was in Buffalo for two months shooting a movie in Jan/Feb/March and got to watch first hand as the entire city collapsed into depression when the Bills fell out of the playoffs.

The town was full of excitement and it fell to “everyone is on meth today” super quick.

The fact that the Pats beat the Ravens during that down 7-9 year gives me hope. Nothing else does. Ready for this game to kick off.

Bourne gets a break today?
View: https://twitter.com/PhilAPerry/status/1574074639814475776

Patriots start warmups in 11 personnel with Kendrick Bourne, Lil’Jordan Humphrey and Nelson Agholor. Next snap is 12 personnel with Humphrey and DeVante Parker at wideout.

Seeing a lot of Agholor and Bourne on the outside with Humphrey in the slot during warmups. Parker mixed in at the end with a Hoyer rep and one last Mac rep in 11s. #Patriots

Also, Tucker is a beast.

Justin Tucker just hit a field goal during warmups from the #Patriots logo at the 50-yard line. Looked good from ~65 yards or so. Ridiculous.

Beyond just Bourne, the Meyers inactive may be a blessing in disguise in terms of getting more guys involved. Assuming Mac/Matty P can, you know, get more guys involved.
