The 718
This UCLA-Texas game has been a lot of fun to watch (3:00 left in 4th, 20-17 Bruins). Great play by both teams.

Huge stonewalling play to prevent a Florida 1st down by the UK defensive front.

And now the backfield stop for a loss. 4th down.

Just realized what a shitty day it's been for the Big Ten. Sure, OSU blew out their MAC cream puff du jour (66-0 over Kent), but Michigan led just 17-10 at the half before finally putting away Miami OH 34-10.

Meanwhile...

West Virginia 40, Maryland 37
Bowling Green 45, Indiana 42
Iowa State 20, Iowa 17
TCU 30, Minnesota 7
Washington 44, Illinois 19
Notre Dame 30, Purdue 14

Six non-conference losses in one day. Nebraska's the only remaining hope, leading at Fresno 14-2 after a quarter.

Well they needed loads and loads of hot bullshit to get by Kentucky at home in 3 overtimes, so good win Gators. That's where you're at now.

Listening to Muschamp talk about how "our kids faced a lot of adversity" was good for a chuckle.

Who gives a shit about the past? Manziel has completely changed the landscape of Texas football. It's way more even in terms of fan support.
Bullshit -- college football is what it is because of tradition.

Manziel completely changed the landscape of the Heisman race for two years. Unscientifically, I don't think it's a stretch to say Texas has more fans state- and nationwide... probably significantly so. Aggies have more fervor, but they're also a cult and have no female cheerleaders.

But you're missing the fundamental relationship -- A&M will always be the nail and not the hammer. Their inferiority complex is what drove them to the SEC. It's understandable when you live in the geographical butthole that is College Station, and for someone who's middle age, had to sit-through four UT championships in their lifetime.

Once Sumlin moves on to greener pastures, it will be the same as it always was. The current relationship is an outlier and not a new trend.

Jamie Erdahl and her revealing neckline on the sidelines out in Fresno, covering the game for CBSSN.

Nope, sorry. 17 year-olds who weren't even alive then could care less about Texas' awesome 70s teams. And A&M has plenty of tradition. Go ahead and look at A&M's records in the 1990s since you obviously need a refresher.

Then, go and look at A&M's new stadium, which will make Darryl Royal Stadium look like a pile of shit. Texas A&M is a program that isn't going anywhere. If you want to cite UT's history to make you feel better (I don't have a dog in this fight), go ahead. You'll just sound like a Yankees fan circa 2003 because, you know, baseball is about tradition so the Red Sox will always play 2nd fiddle.
A&M's sole Big 12 championship in 1998 was immortal, I'm sure, and deserves to be waxed poetically on for generations to come. Never-mind your hypothetical 17-year olds were a year old back then.

For 3/4ths of these 17 year olds lives, they were subject to the suck that was the Dennis Franchione and Mike Sherman eras while Vince Young was mopping the floor with USC and UT has consistently claimed the top spot in NCAA licensing revenue.

A&M's stadium will marginally fit more people... for a few years until UT expands, and that's it. Never mind UT objectively has better total facilities.
