Carter wasn’t getting picked number one overall.

But I guess it’s good they didn’t characterize his drop in the draft as due to ‘off the field issues’.

Eh, still some minimizing by the broadcast. "Jalen Carter allegedly was street racing...", which makes it sound questionable. Then, "Carter pleaded no contest to street racing". He did it. He legally admitted this by pleading no contest. It's hair splitting, but no need to say allegedly.

Also, MIN sucks at clock management. TO on the PHI goal line play that gained them nothing, then a TO after an incomplete pass.

In 6 quarters, Minnesota has now had a botched snap turnover inside the 30, an interception at their opponents 2 yard line, a fumble through their opponents end zone, and Cousins also booted another snap inside his own 20.

Talk about fucking awful turnovers.

Can never see a play like this and not get angry ir wasn’t called correctly for the Pats when Benjamin Watson ran down the Denver player. Was it Champ? Man that still burns me all these years later.

I just hate that the play is a turnover. Whatever happened to favoring the offense? The weird endzone rules are stupid.

What is the rationale behind this rule?
Dean Blandino:

“Because the goal line is involved — and this is a consistent application of the impetus rule,” Blandino said. “Impetus is the force that puts the ball into an end zone. So if a team provides the impetus that puts a ball into their opponent’s end zone . . . then they are responsible for it. They’re responsible for it. And if the ball gets out of bounds through the end zone then it is a touchback. [...]

“Now that may seem like an egregious penalty but again, think about it, they put the ball into their opponent’s end zone,” Blandino said. “If it’s not fourth down or inside two minutes, if they recover it, it’s a score. So that’s potentially a big play, so the penalty for not recovering it . . . has to be big as well. That’s why it’s a touchback. That’s consistent with other loose balls that go into an opponent’s end zone. Kicks, punts, fumbles, backward passes."

“You’re responsible for putting the ball into your opponent’s end zone, you’re responsible for recovering it,” Blandino said. “If you don’t and it goes out of bounds or the defense recovers, they’ve defended their goal line, and they get a touchback.”

This is making me feel better about the Pats’ offense.

Edit: and now the defense as well.
