Our spring reinforcements have done little to help the cause, though I am not certain it is entirely their fault. We've been given a poor lot for protection. Try as they might, effort can only elevate a man so far beyond his natural station and we have been incessantly besieged. My shoulders ache and my knees howl with every maneuver. F. Gore, a rather experienced volunteer from Miami who replaced the layabout from Alabama we had been saddled with, can find no purchase as each advance is repelled by a swarm of angry resistance or, worse still, our own incompetence.
And there is much incompetence to go around, starting at the highest levels of the army's general staff to the conscripts being asked to do carry out orders far beyond their ability. Early in our most recent clash, I was made to throw to a man drafted only to block. Such foolishness!

absolutely. 2nd wild card ought to be in the east with everybody playing the AFC south. if one of them can steal a win from NE and/or go 3-1 against the other two, i like their chances. and i think NYJ probably have the best chance on that, with their schedule + BUF already dropping their home game against NE.
Fitzpatrick looked awful tonight, should have been picked off at least three times.
Poor decision making and accuracy on anything beyond 10 yards. Not to mention they couldn't run against Ind all rookie dl

Screw both of them. My kids have had to put up with the douchey Giants and Jets fans in their schools making comments since January. The kid can blame his favorite team's drug addled owner and slimy front office for his misery.

If I go into Omar is Dead and post in some cooking show thread or other and end up with "GO PATS!" will I get some warning points?

I just say to myself that we lost our first two games on purpose because we hate New England so much. Every team outside of New England's division, we'll beat by 50+ points with our dream team offense.

@grantboone: @BillSimmons I picture you posing as post-sewer crawl Andy Dufresne after every tweet these days.

Edit: don't know how to link on phone. Nice comments after this tweet though

Brandon Marshall is going to be a great replacement for Shannon Sharpe/Hines Ward/Marshall Faulk/Emmitt Smith/etc in the studio once he retires. Actually, I hope he replaces all those guys.

People are being way too hard on the colts. Jets are going to do everybody like this.
The Jets can get away with leaving 24 points on the field against baby-shit-and-kitten-tears teams like the Colts. They have a soft schedule and should be competitive all year. But make no mistake, the Jets can "do this" (meaning what they did tonight) and still lose 6 to 9 games, because they will not get away with having a horrific offense all year and they will not get 5 TOs every week. In the offense-heavy NFL of today you can't afford to waste your opportunities, because even great defenses get tired and get penalized and good offenses will move the ball on them and come back. Scoring 20 against this fucking red rover defense - even on the road - should be an embarrassment.

I love that everyone the Patriots beat on the way to #4 is now 0-2.
Really 3 game losing streaks stretching into last year.

Balt home vs 2-0 cinci
indy at 1-1 tenn
Sea home v 0-2 chi

You would expect def Sea and likely Indy get a W, but Balt could be 0-3. However I am not sure if its better Cinci takes a loss for long term playoff seeding implications.

I don't see why everyone is writing off that Tennessee game so easily.

In the Colts current state that game could go south on them quickly if they get down early and everyone just starts sniping at each other. Pagano better snap the colts back into the right place mentally this week in practice or they are screwed.

Maybe the Cowboys were a step ahead of the Eagles’ offense Sunday because the Cowboys knew what was coming.
Speaking to reporters Tuesday in Philadelphia, Eagles wide receiver Josh Huff said there were times when he lined up near the Cowboys’ sideline and could hear Cowboys players calling out what play was coming.
That’s not good.
In light of the Cowboys’ domination in that game, Eagles coach Chip Kelly promised everything would be evaluated before the Eagles play again Sunday at the Jets. Now, that probably will include how the Eagles signal in their plays and self-evaluate their offensive tendencies.
For Kelly and all involved with the Eagles, it’s not going to be a very fun week.

Jesus, the comments by Pats fans on that article are cringeworthy. Yeah, they got fucked with deflategate, but can we stop taking every single controversy that doesn't become a national story as proof that everyone is out to get us?

It's also interesting that the short article makes no mention of the possibility of the Cowboys cheating.

Honestly, if the article read, "Speaking to reporters Tuesday in Buffalo, Bills wide receiver Sammy Watkins said there were times when he lined up near the Patriots’ sideline and could hear Patriots players calling out what play was coming." do you think cheating would have been mentioned?

Probably, but there's nothing people can do to change that anymore. Living in a state of perpetual whiny paranoia, bringing up the Patriots in every article that refers to another team that might have done something that skirts the rules doesn't seem like an attractive option to me.
