Rodgers makes the same face that Ryan Gosling makes in all his movies.

That was funny. He got fooled so badly by the inside move he was in position when Adams cut it back out.

I agree with Collinsworth, watching a guy win a game in Week 2, at home, where you score 17 points and would have been beaten of his defense didn't bail him out with two big turnovers, is one of the most impressive things I've ever seen a football player do.

I get that Rodgers makes some unbelievable plays on the move, and has had some great seasons, but I really don't understand the "he's the only guy definitely better than Brady" meme. His mechanics (always throwing off his back foot) and body language (pouts a lot) seemingly leave a lot to be desired. Don't really see him as a great leadership-type, either. At 32, and relying a lot on his athleticism, are we starting to see a slight decline?

He's now gone 14 games without a passer rating of 100+. I think the sample size is big enough that questions regarding a possible decline are legitimate. You're right, though, a guy that relies so much on mobility and sheer arm talent will always be more prone to being affected by age and injury.

He gets paid a lot of guaranteed money this year at least, but think Kirk Cousins is starting to regret not signing a long-term deal? That team is going to be back on the quarterback carousel next year with Cousins back to his career destiny as good backup.

I didn't realize Sean McDonough was the permanent PBP guy on MNF now. Good for him. I always liked him back to his Red Sox days.

Wentz looks the real deal, the team hasn't put up a ton of points but he makes all the throws; can loft it over the top, gun it into a tight window and throw on the run. Way too early to make this claim, but I find it hard to believe that Goff is going to end up being better.

This is my take too. He looks great; it's unbelievable that both the Rams and Browns passed on him.

He's the best looking rookie in years. Matthews seems to drop a ton of balls too.

What's Cutlers contract like? Can they divest themselves of him and maybe trade for a young hotshot QB that grew up and played college ball in Illinois?

Ehh. I don't think the Browns were wrong to pick up a 1,2,3,4 in exchange for trading down 6 slots from 2 to 8.

You can't be too results oriented in evaluating draft trades. Wentz may turn out to be great or he may not. But you have to judge trade decisions based on the information available at the time to teams. The Browns did not know which QB would fall to #2 at the time. And while both Goff and Wentz were intriguing in certain ways, each also had significant question marks and neither was anywhere close to a Luck level QB prospect.

That was a smart trade by the Browns no matter how Wentz turns out.

This game is a piece of shit, but yes please to more of the camera angle they used on Eddie Royal's punt return for a TD. A high shot from behind the punter, you could see all the blocks being set up and where the lanes were forming. Much better than the normal side angle where you don't know who's about to come into the picture.

Completely agree. Helps to have the punt out of the endzone. Less push from the high endzone camera.

Is Philly legit? With that defense, they look like a team that can hang with Dallas and NY for the division.

It was great and I wasn't paying attention enough to realize the angle is why I liked it so much

If Wentz is legit they'll be in the battle I suspect. Defence is really good but shallow at CB and LB, I will never understand the decision to dump Rowe. They dressed 3 corners today, WTF man.
Offensively, the drops need to stop, but ti's nice to see Agholor not totally suck. The 3 TE set is REAL weapon, Burton is legit. They haven't had all three good TE healthy yet. But I'm very interested in the use of that formation.
Big concern would be Kelce looks awful and Johnson still likely has a suspension of 10 games to deal with. This likely shift Barbre to tackle, where he's out matched and replaces him at tackle with a lesser player.
If the line can stay healthy and whoever fills in can keep Wentz upright the team will be in the mix.

But an injury to Peters, or a couple CB injuries and it's significant problem. But that's true of many teams I guess, lose both tackles and two corners most have issues!

I think you're letting the Browns off too easy. I suspect people in NFL circles were pretty sure the Rams wanted Goff by the time the Browns dealt the pick, so the trade was fundamentally a bet against Wentz -- if he becomes a league-average QB by his second or third year, his value will swamp the value of the picks the Browns got in return, unless they fall ass-backwards into the next JJ Watt or something.

People talk about the Rams fleecing Washington in the RG3 trade, but the Rams are still waiting for their first playoff appearance since that trade, because their QB situation is a train wreck. We'd be looking back at that trade as a disaster for the Rams if RG3's career had played out to even the 30th percentile of the range of expectations at the time he was drafted.
