* This could be the last Michigan-Notre Dame game we see for quite some time.

* Thursday night this week offers two games nobody gives a crap about, but at least it's football.

08:00 pm - Arizona @ Texas-San Antonio (FS1)
09:00 pm - Grand Valley State at Azusa Pacific (CBSSN) <--- Both D-II schools

* One crappy thing about the early part of the season is that Tuesday Night MACtion doesn't start until November. ESPN2 will give us a couple of Sun Belt games in October (LA-Lafayette @ Texas St on 10/14, Arkansas St @ LA-Lafayette on 10/21), but otherwise Tuesday nights are barren.

I feel dumb asking, but which one is this? I'm assuming the historic one is Mich-ND? or Stanford-U$C?

Arizona 20 UTSA 16 at the half.

UTSA is using the old USF/FAU "sure come to our recruiting rich area, we're new, we won't bite" technique.

also. COKER.

UTSA looked really impressive last week in a sound beating of Houston.  Another win vs. Arizona tonight would be massive for a program like that.  Arizona started the game with an 85 yard touchdown pass on the first play from scrimmage, and then UTSA responded and built a 16-13 lead before Arizona scored a td before the half to get the lead back.  Arizona has pretty good field position right now though, about halfway through the third.  Pretty big series here.  Not sure UTSA could come back if Arizona scored a td on this drive.

Also, a name folks may want to remember is Anu Solomon.  He's the freshman QB for Arizona.  In his debut last week in the opener, he went for 425 yards and 4td's vs. UNLV.  He's currently got 218 yards and a TD tonight.  They also have a freshman running back named Nick Wilson that had 19 carries, 128 yards and a td last week, and has 21-138 and a td tonight.

Two straight HUGE stops by UTSA on short yardage. Announcers bitching about a bad spot after the first try, but eff that. You're fucking Arizona. Run it down their throats, or STFU.

Roadrunners ball with 2:04 left, down 26-23.

EDIT - And a shovel pass gets intercepted. Crap. Was really hoping for yet another gag job by a Pac 12 team.

Another fucking shaky win by the Pac-12. Maybe we are who they thought we we but we claim not to be. If you want to disrespect our ass, disrespect our ass! (hits microphone) And we're still on the hook! That's why we took the damn field!

Good thing for the P12 that computer-aided BCS rankings aren't being used to determine the playoff slots this year. Otherwise the conference might have been mathematically eliminated with an Arizona loss tonight.

Newfangled or not, UTSA isn't a doormat. They have a good shot to win their division. They ain't UAB or EMU.

edit- get this, UTSA has 38 seniors. That kind of experience will keep you in a lot of games.

Early season college football is funny. Everyone, even the best teams, has kinks to work out; if you squeeze out a win, kinks and all, especially on the road, that kind of surviving is how great seasons are started.

K State/Iowa State turning out to be a decent game so far - 14-13 ISU in the second quarter after an ISU punt return for a TD.
Might switch after halftime in the Tide game.

Anyone watching Nebraska?

8 College football games on tv at the moment, and every single one of them is in commercial break at the same time.  Every time.  It's uncanny.

Why is Missouri visiting Toledo? Apparently they have yet to master the art of SEC scheduling?

Missouri's head coach was the coach of Toledo for 10 years.

I had no idea McNeese State even had a football program.

Bad enough I have to deal with Newcastle and Pardew, but this Nebraska and Pelini shit is worse...

McNeese blew out USF last year, 53-21. That said, Nebraska should beat them 8 days a week.

UMASS/Colorado just turned into a shootout.  UMASS took the lead at 31-27, and then Colorado responded with a 70 scoring pass to go back up 34-31.  Still over 3 minutes left in the 3rd.

That was a horrendous call.  A chop block requires the player being blocked to be engaged up high first then cut.  the blitzer never got engaged.  Refs blew that one.

Another sweet punt by Stanford , next time someone wants to talk about the quality of the Pac12 they should be forced to watch this game

The difference in this game is that USC has a kicker who can make 50 yard field goals and Stanford doesn't.
