So Vegas is the 5 seed now, but if they lost they wouldn’t have been in the playoffs at all. NFL tiebreakers are weird.

All San Diego had to do is stop a run they knew was coming and they didn’t.
Yeah, but they might have thought San Diego would take another timeout on a stop to try a punt block. And instead of letting the clock run at the end they kicked in retaliation.
agreed, and it did not really change anything..Raiders could still have taken a knee...the problem was the run that got them in FG range
The raiders called the same play after the timout they would have called before it. And if it had the same result they still would have kicked.
It SHOULD have been to set the run defense for a stop. It seems like Staley just shoved his thumb up his ass instead.
I was rooting for a FG block and return for TD. I get it from the Raiders POV to avoid KC but man I don’t know if I could risk 100% chance at the playoffs for it.

Preview the LV formation/may not have liked what they saw. That was a huge play, difference between like a 55-57 yarder (and maybe a punt) and a 45-47 yarder.
It didn’t matter in terms of the Raiders trying to convert that third down or not, and it made no meaningful difference in terms of the game clock.

Playing for a win is different than playing for a TD. Of course the Raiders minimized risk, and it was going to come down to a long-ish FG.
Carr just said on field that the timeout had an impact. Also said they always wanted to win but I think it probably spooked LV
I also think that the Raiders have had a huge chip on their shoulders since the Gruden disaster, they like their interim coach, and, yes, playing the Bengals instead of the Chiefs was a motivator
