I think it will be close.

For me, Mich State was the 10th with one loss, and beat #2 who now has one loss.

So Mich State and Ohio State now have the same pedigree, except Ohio State has lost to Mich State. Nod goes to Mich State there.

Now Mich State ran the table in the Big Ten, and then won their championship. One loss. Stanford lost two in the Pac-12. I put in the team with the better record in.

Stanford played much better competition though.

Yeah, I was just going by the BCS rankings.

The crazy thing is that the team with the "best" loss is Ohio State.  Losing to MSU in the Big Ten title game is a better loss than losing to a mediocre Notre Dame team.  That doesn't really pass the logic test, but it might pass the computer ranking test.

It really depends on how much you value SOS. OSU was MSU's first game against a ranked team. Stanford has four wins against ranked teams. MSU's SOS ranked 60th before this week's games, Stanford's 5th.

Orange - Ohio State (This could be Clemson. Note that they do not have to take from the same conference)
Sugar - Alabama
Orange - UCF (Taking one for the team here, which would not be unusual.)
Sugar - Oklahoma (Could also be Clemson)
Fiesta - Oregon

I would take Michigan State over Stanford just because I don't think the Pac-12 was THAT much better than the Big 12. That being said, a case could be made for Missouri getting a 4th spot. They played in the always-brutal SEC (although they avoided Alabama and LSU) they lost 2 games, one to Auburn and one in double-OT to South Carolina. If you believe that the SEC is vastly better than the Big 10 and slighlty better than the Pac-12, then I think you can give it to Mizzou.

It's also interesting people are talking about slotting in UCF and Clem into bowls and giving that hypothetical 4th playoff spot to Mizzou, yet a team like SCar, who beat all of those teams, gets no love.

I understand some of that is also based upon auto bids tho.

Because South Carolina, although playing in the SEC, managed to avoid playing LSU, Auburn, Alabama and Texas A&M.

HA! Even *I* don't give to the Buck/Cardinal Club!

Good on you for honoring the bet, nebulous as it was. I will buy us that martini when you come out to SF.

P.S. 36 top level teams? How about 35 and a group of guys playing something resembling basketball?

Honestly that isn't that bad of a matchup for the Fiesta.  Baylor is one of the top handful of offenses in College football, and just a really fun creative team to watch.   UCF is a good football team.     I suspect Baylor will end up beating them pretty good, but even if it happens it will be fun to watch

The matchups are good, but could be improved if you could switch Oklahoma with Baylor.  Baylor and Alabama is a fascinating matchup (since Alabama and Oregon cannot legally happen for some bizarre reason).  And, Oklahoma is a bigger draw than Baylor, so the Fiesta Bowl should not mind the swap all that much.

yeah it's debatable, But he came down, one foot down with full possession, ball wasn't moving, while he landed on the receiver, and then his arm hit the ground and the ball popped out.

but you have to call TO to see the review. OU was smart with the quick snap

edit- oh if you are saying ground can't cause the fumble, you're absolutely right
I will go to my grave believing that pass was an interception.
