Who else is in the conversation for best roster with worst coaching staff? Looks like Chargers and Bucs to me but both have had OL injuries so maybe I am being too hard on them.

Broncos? That roster is not a 3-10 roster. Arizona might make the list, but they have O-line issues too

Would you rather have BB, Patricia and The Mullet or McCarthy, Moore and Quinn?
Interesting. Doesn’t answer my question because I don’t think Pats roster is that good. I think this your question is about how much does Matty P bring down the dad and heir. I don’t think he brings down BB enough. I still take Pats staff given equal talent.

Broncos is a good call.

Edit: Zona is a team I have not seen a lot of at all and I don’t like to judge without watching for myself. Could be.

That was played pretty smartly, a little slow, but you needed to recover an onside basically no matter what and over a minute is plenty of time if you get it.

One of my favorite little things in football is players emphatically pointing in their team's direction when they have zero clue who actually has the ball at the bottom of the pile.

As a Pats fan, I agree with this.

Someone needs to give the Chargers the memo -- it's supposed to be the "hands" team, not the "let the ball bounce off you ankle" team

As mentioned earlier, I know we should have been rooting for Miami, but it is nice to see them lose.
Chargers have the easier schedule coming up, but they are the Chargers, so we have some hope.

Browns. Brissett was actually quite good and the roster is all-around solid. Crazy that they’re 5-8, same as the Steelers.
I'm glad you said this because as I was watching today, I kept thinking was switching to Watson the right choice when Brissett seemed to be doing OK and not the reason why they were a .500ish team. Hasn't the offense slowed down quite a bit since they switched QBs?

Watson has not played in two years. They weren’t going on a deep playoff run. Makes sense to give Watson the last 6 games to shake off the rust and get ready for next year.

Bengals maybe
Bengals. Lol. You mean the team who made a Super Bowl last year out of nowhere and have won 5 in a row this year against a pretty tough schedule?

They have no coaching talent? Just a horrendous call. And I'm surprised you didn't call them The Kitty Kats, too. You love your lil nicknames.

Miami can also fall apart and we have the game in Foxboro. Baltimore not pulling these close games off the last two weeks would have been helpful.

Raiders? Or is that more of a roster issue?

I don’t think they have a good roster. They have a couple really nice players but overall not a lot of talent.
Agreed. They arguably have the worst secondary in the league. Their pass rush is Maxx Crosby (who is great), the shambling corpse of Chandler Jones and nothing else. They have some nice pieces on offense (Davante, Jacobs, Renfrow, Waller), but little depth.

He was hurt last week. Supposedly he's healthy this week.
The problem is Tua. Waddle was questionable for a bunch of games this season, and played well in most of them.

Tua has fixated on Hill in recent weeks. In the last two games, Hill has 24 targets to 9 targets for Waddle, and the only reason Waddle got to 9 was because Hill got hurt last night, and Tua had to throw it his way a couple times in the end.

When Hill left the game on the last drive of the 4th quarter last night, he had 10 targets and the rest of the team had 8. Waddle got 2 of his 4 targets last night on that drive after Hill was out. Sherfield got 2 of his 4 on that drive. He basically ignored Waddle, every other receiver, Gesicki, the running backs all night long, and Hill was being covered well.

Not dismissing the main thesis, but I do think the Waddle injury (now) is a bigger issue than it had been. Those numbers also leave out the fact that Waddle only played on 52% of the snaps against San Francisco, he ran considerably fewer routes than is usually the case.

Last night was a case where I’d really like to go back and watch the all-22, so I could see the other routes being run, see if Tua was ignoring shorter stuff, lit Waddle was blanketed and out there as basically a decoy, etc.

Reading some of the quotes from his teammates after the game, Mike White definitely won over the locker room for good by coming back in and playing hurt. Zach Wilson might play next week because of White’s injuries, but he’s done in New York.

What’s Wilson worth in a trade? Rosen went for a 2nd and 5th, but the Cardinals had more leverage and he’s somewhat of a cautionary tale in himself. Having trouble imagining NYJ getting even a 3rd right now to the point where I’m wondering if I’m going to get laughed at for even suggesting that’s the o/u.
