Oh, you mean beat Marc Richt, formerly of Florida State? Gee that was tough.
Uga is 7-2 in the conf you are championing. You saying they're no good?

Sec is the best conference but that doesn't mean it's not overrated

Every week.  Same old story.  FSU wins, and people shit on them.  I hate FSU, but I don't care who you are and how you look doing it, you win 25 straight games in college football, the haters just look like whiny children.  Like I said last week, do I think Alabama or Oregon will beat them in the playoff?  Sure.  Until then, it's just noise.  The SEC has plenty of overrated and shitty teams too.   Mississippi State is losing to an Ole Miss team that lost 30-0 last week to Arkansas.  If people think FSU wouldn't beat Arkansas, I got a bridge to sell you.  FSU lost 13 of their 22 starters to the NFL last season and all they've done is win every game since.  Until they lose, IMO, they should be ranked #1 in the country.

For example, Florida had 2 field goals today to take the lead and missed them both.  FSU has had a whole bunch of kicks that mattered down the stretch, and they've made every single one, because they have the best kicker in the country.  It's the little things that some teams do better than others that result in wins.  Whether it be clock management, handling the 2 minute drill, special teams, and on and on.  Sure, other teams may have more talent top to bottom than the Noles, but do they do the little things, or do they fuck up when it matters most?  From where I sit, FSU is the only team that hasn't fucked up yet this year when it mattered most.

On that last TD by Texas Tech, the refs missed a blatant holding call downfield by a Tech receiver that allowed the guy to go down the sideline and score.  No idea how the ref didn't throw a flag there.

Ironically, if the SEC gets shut out of the playoff, it kind of opens the door for FSU. I think they match up far better against Oregon, the Big 12 and OSU, than they do against Alabama.
But as Coach Jimbo just sayed, they've got to get by a good GT team first.
I think FSU matches up better against Bama than Oregon. Oregon is way more explosive on offense and Winston, when on, could pick at D apart.

The good news is we will get to see.

I don't think the SEC is overrated. I do think Florida St is overrated. The good news is we will get to see. If Alabama gets to the final four and plays FSU, we will see. But right now I think FSU is maybe the 6th best team in the country, and would be the 4th best team in the SEC. Alabama, Auburn, and depending on the Saturday, Missouri, MS St, or Ole Miss is better. And let Gurley pay, and Georgia may be better than FSU.

And Oregon may be better than all of them.

My boy, Louisville DB, Gerod Holliman, had interception number 14 today.  Unreal.  He also picked off a pass on a two point conversion, but I don't believe that counts as an interception in the record books. IIRC, there might have also been a penalty on the play, so it may not have mattered.

Yeah,  he had 3 against BC.  He now has 14 on the year, in 11 games.  He missed one game with an injury/suspension, and had two games where he didn't have a pick.  He's had 3 games with 2 interceptions, plus the 3 interception game against BC. He has 245 return yards, and 1 for a TD.  He's only a sophomore (I think he redshirted), but played sparingly last year.  Be very interesting to see what he ends up with for his collegiate career.  I haven't looked up the record, so I'm not sure what it is.

No doubt Auburn is good enough to win this game, but man they really are self imploding at critical times

From Wikipedia, some monster numbers:

FBS: 80 – Timmy Chang, Hawaii, 2000–04[1]

FCS: 75 – Willie Totten, Mississippi Valley, 1982–85[15]

Div II: 88 – Bob McLaughlin, Lock Haven, 1992–95[25]

Div III: 117 – Steve Hendry, Wisconsin–Superior, 1980–83[21]

Dean Cain (yes, Superman) held the FCS single-season record at 12 INTs, but I think someone else broke that number. Cain went to Princeton.

edit - Rashean Mathis in Stupendous's post above broke Cain's record.

Make no mistake: I think bama is the top team out there and that the sec is the best conf. I just don't think florida st would be a so-so team in the sec.

Said every Auburn fan during every game this season.

They are making a real game of it, and that's all I really could hope for tonight.

That's a silly rule. Define strictly the signal for a fair catch in the rules.
A valid fair-catch signal is the extending and lateral waving of one arm, at full arms length above the head, by any member of the receiving team. [2-9-3]

Then the referees are the problem. Not exactly news. The quality of officiating in the NCAA leaves things to be desired.

If Auburn can shred Bama like this, I have to think Oregon's offense will roll over them.

Pitiful clock management.  Run up there and spike it, then you get to run two plays before a FG attempt.

So, so dumb by Auburn there.  Take their time getting to the line of scrimmage there, and instead of having 2-3 shots to the end zone from the 1, they now have 1 chance.  So, so dumb.  Use the timeout with 25 seconds left, and you have 3 plays to score a td.  Instead, they run a play and the clock now has 4 seconds on it.  Now, they'll probably have to kick a FG to get any points.

Here
Caught that with 28 seconds left, they had a timeout, and it took 24 seconds to run a play.

Bummer that they couldn't fully capitalize on that incredible pass play and turn it into 7.
