The 3rd-and-1 play call was excellent I thought -- a short conversion may only lead to a FG attempt which is still no gimme and only leads to OT, Buffalo is surely going to clamp down on the short stuff there, and an accurate throw probably leads to a TD forces Buffalo to drive the length of the field.

The disaster was all the timewasting at midfield which handcuffed their options late in the drive.

Or, if you throw long on the last play, throw it to Amon Ra. But he was definitely banged up.

It was just a bad call, and a worse pass. Very disappointing.

Goff is decidedly not terrible. That is an absurd comment. But he's certainly not great.

You can't throw long on that play.
Wasn’t defending the play or Dan Campbell, he was absolutely brain dead for the final two minutes. Throwing deep is idiocy there, but since that’s what they chose to do, might as well note Goff should’ve given his receiver at least a chance. And it’s not absurd to call Goff terrible, there’s like, what, 18-20 better QBs in the league? So yea, probably exaggeration to call the 20th best QB terrible, but he’s for sure not good.

There are not 20 QBs in the NFL better than Goff.

They had 2 at the time of the 3rd-and-1, but they began the drive with like 2:40 and all 3 timeouts, and having the option to run throughout the drive would have been very useful.

Main thing is that they should have been thinking TD from the start.

Goff is 10th in yards and 12th in rating in 2022.

"Terrible"
Guys behind him in yards or rating include plenty of guys who are undoubtedly better than him, such as Hurts, Jackson, Tua, Prescott, Brady, Herbert, Stafford, etc. Goff is having one of the best seasons of his career, and he’s on pace for 4151 yards, 25 touchdowns, 11 picks, and a 92.8 rating. He’s not terrible the way that Zach Wilson is terrible, but he’s not good. The fact he’s 10th and 12th in two stats over a ten game span doesn’t demonstrate that he is.

Calling him terrible is an exaggeration, but it’s a game thread, and consider how frequently people call guys like Cousins, Tannehill, and Carr terrible. They’ve all been better than him, by a decent amount, for several years. Goff this season is slightly worse than Carson Wentz was with the Colts.

You said he was terrible. He's 12th in the league in rating. Literally not terrible.

Dallas just jamming it down their throat.

So why not throw a pass that has the highest probability of being picked off?

Idiot.

That was an awful throw. I don’t really hate the cowboys or anything, but them losing is always so funny

Broadcast just mentioned people not realizing how big Daniel Jones is, so I looked it up and he’s listed as 6’5 230. Meanwhile Allen is listed as 6’5 237. Something is off there, which is wrong?

Allen probably heavier than 237

This Buddy Ryan ‘fuck it, we blitzin’ defense is fun to watch. Gibbs absolutely killed this type of D but it works more than it should.
