The problem with taking the safety is that then a field goal wins the game for A&M. Those two points are pretty big.
True, but you'd have to think Auburn would start with the ball at maybe their own 35, instead of the A&M 42.  Those 23ish yards of field position are huge this late in the game.  I dunno, I could go either way on this one.

That center is going to feel like complete shit for a long, long time.

and how the fuck does that happen IN AUBURN?  Peyton would be screaming at the crowd to shut up.

How can there not be some sort of dead ball, false start penalty?  Half of the Auburn offense was moving when he snapped the ball, including Marshall who was moving forward toward the line of scrimmage?

If length of game is an issue, I would rather do something about the 17 reviews a game rather than eliminating plays on the field

You are probably right on that

I can't believe nobody is bringing up that bad snap?  The offense wasn't even close to set.  It makes no sense.

I hope JMD is ok.

But seriously, an Indian Giver fumble and the center snapping the ball into his upper thigh, is what killed it for Auburn, is mind-boggling.

But they've done it plenty of times before (eg, the clock used to start after a first down on the snap, not just when ready for play), and I don't imagine it's bothered you.

A second loss likely kills Auburn's chances at the playoff. Lots can happen but Auburn is going to drop like a rock in the polls.

Death is right, I really have no idea how there wasn't a procedure player on that.  Maybe they ruled they were never set.

You had #11 on the QB right who was drifting slowly to the left  and backwards.  the QB was moving left. There may have been others moving

I believe an illegal procedure penalty could have been declined by the defense, whereas a false start couldn't because it's a dead ball penalty.  Maybe they didn't call a false start because they were never set, but a procedure flag definitely should have been thrown.  Like I said, Marshall was walking up to the LOS when the ball was snapped, and you can't have player moving towards the LOS, without getting set, prior the snap.  Anyway, I'd love to hear a guy like Pereira's take on it at some point.

You would figure if the center didn't realize Marshall hadn't yelled hike, he would at least realize he snapped it into his own nuts. Balls loose.

In my weekly FCS action update, couple of interesting things going on.

FCS juggernaut North Dakota State is currently losing 16-3 to Northern Iowa with about 10 minutes to go.  They are 3 time defending FCS Champ, and I believe they've won 33 straight games (including a whole bunch of wins against FBS opponents), which is the longest streak in FCS history, and 5th longest in college football history.

Sacramento State WR, DeAndre Carter, has 16 catches for 273 yards and 4td's with about 7 minutes to go.

Not sure they will drop like a rock, but at the same time, I don't think they will let a 2 loss team jump over a 1 loss team.  What this loss does it makes it very possible the SEC only gets one team into the playoff. I think right now the only chance the SEC gets 2 teams in the playoffs is if Alabama wins out (Beats MSU reasonably close game), beats Auburn, wins SEC Championship game.   Then I am pretty sure Bama and MSU get in.

I guess If MSU loses to Georgia/MSU in the SEC title game then maybe both teams get in.

I do think there are scenarios where Georgia/Missouri win the SEC title game BUT are not invited to the Playoff, which would just be awkward

2 more picks in the 1st Quarter. Is Winston shaving points in the 1st Half again?
Just first quarter this time. He's changing things up to throw the NCAA off his scent.

College football is 90% determined by whomever is the dumber team. Teams like KState win because they arent stupid, not because they are more talented

The rules enacted in 2006 (starting the clock on kickoffs and on a change of possession) were pretty bad and were repealed after only a season. The 2008 rules changes (40 second play clock, restarting the clock on the ready to play whistle after an out-of-bounds) were pretty good, because it shortened the length of games, but forced teams to run more plays due to play clock changes.

I think the easiest issue to fix is 20 minute halftimes, compared to 12 in the NFL.

Wow, it took almost 9 minutes for the first points to be scored in a Big 12 game.      What are you talking about too much offense.

TCU is in really good shape with a win tonight and if either Bama or Oregon lose on the road tonight.  TCU will be double digit favorites in their last 3 games.

Yes, but the 3 non quality opponents will hurt them in some ways as well. It  gives Baylor an opportunity to beat a couple good teams and potentially pass them.  Baylor does have the win over TCU on the resume still
