Tua WTF are you doing, you're going to tackle the guy with the back of your head?

The more I see Mookie hanging with celebs the more I believe he really just wanted to be in LA.
I've always believed that. I remember CC Sabathia saying on a pod (maybe Simmons?) that anyone who talked to his people knew he was going to LA once he hit free agency. (Not that I want to reopen that well-OVER-worn subject.)

No I don't think so. He's a cut below. Nice stats in an era where there are lots of them. Only the one playoff run. Never really close to MVP. He's quite a ways behind a guy like Matt Ryan.
Well, I’m supporting him . As soon as he got with a real coach as an older player he has been awesome.

Would’ve gone for that fourth and goal from the four, that FG leaves you needing the equivalent of an inside straight to even get the game to OT, and winning in regulation is almost impossible.

Anything resembling a decent drive by Miami and you’re fucked as much as if you didn’t convert on fourth down.

McVay is managing this like an Al Michaels EXTEND THE GAME/MAKE IT A ONE SCORE GAME wet dream.

Should have taken one more shot at the end zone there. Easier to go 30 yards in 36 seconds than 55 yards in 42 seconds (assuming successful on side)

0-3 to 4-3
What’s the rationale for kicking the field goal on third down there? I saw a different team do that earlier this season, and I just don’t get it. You’re 15 tards from the end zone so why not throw one more pass into the end zone there? It can’t be a clock because it’s like six seconds. I don’t get it.

Mostly clock. Really probably should have taken it as soon as you got in range, but.....

Of course the real problem is they needed to go for one of those 4ths earlier, continuously cutting it to 8 when you're deep in their territory is dumb.

I think the idea is that if you get tackled in bounds, you can’t spike/you’ll have to rush the FG team on the field, burning at least 10-12 seconds. But by that logic might as well kick as soon as you’re in solid FG range.

But yeah, it’s just another example of privileging avoidance of one bad scenario over taking the action that improves your chances of winning the game. At that point they were all but fucked, but it’s bad process nonetheless. Passing up the fourth and goal from the four was his prize mistake.

Hypothetically it also means a bad snap doesn't end the game, you can just ditch it and try again.

Really though, that game was probably lose when they kicked a 22 yard field goal to cut it to 8 instead of going for it on 4th and 4.
